Hi
I have been asked to clean a large block paved driveway which is approx 200 sq yds & 100 sq yd stone patio/pathways.
I am a Carpet Cleaner and do PW as a sideline.
I would normally charge by the area, but that come out at quite a lot about £800, which i think is to much.
What do you think is a reasonable charge for this?

Hi
Yes i know John.
I dont want to price it to high as i'm hoping it will turn into a yearly clean, but i dont want to go in to low because then i wont want to do it next year.

I was chating the other day to john..If you have sealing and re sanding well thats going to mount up as john was saying to seal an area with good quality sealer its going to cost..He was charging 8 pound a square metre i think.I would try and see how long it takes and go from there david and if your happy then go ahead..

Are you bidding or have you got it but feel uneasy about the amount?
If you have it charge your £800 and say it will be easier next time so would be £800-discount.
With the money you wouldn't have got you can buy a whirly thing if you haven't got one already.

David whats the drainage like ? how long do reckon it would take to clean ? The most important think is the drainage I've dropped some right goolies in the past , thinking a big job is going to take half a day and it has't

Hi
Thanks for the replies.
Mike yes the job is mine i clean there carpets 2 or 3 times a year, they used to live in a large house & know they live in a huge house. Price hasn't been mentioned.
John as for equipment i have a Honda 13 hp PW & a whirlaway so doing the job wont be a problem, the drainage looks very good. I dont do sealing.
Although it is a big area it doesn't look that bad so i think i can do it in 6 hours + 2 hours to resand on another day. So even if i have misjudged it and it takes a couple of hours more it is just a long day.
So that is 8 hours + 2 hours traveling (there & back 2 days) = 10 hours at £50 an hour is £500. If i have misjudged it then 12 x £50 = £600.
Does that sound fair.
