Cleaned this rug this morning , If you look closely you can see white speckles , I don't recall them being as noticeable pre clean

John,
The rug is fine, you can now see the white because you have done a good job cleaning it. It looks like a persian Nian, if so the white trim around the pattern will be silk. Nip a bit of white off and do a burn test if it smells of burning hair it's silk, if it smells of burning paper it's cotton.
Anyhow there is nothing wrong with it.

Nothing wrong with rug.[you did not notice the cotton or silk prior to clean because of the soil loading]

To be honest , I didnt notice the silk because of my inexperience any way customer happy And I'm relieved
