Title: Streaks on stonework
Post by: ftp on July 23, 2008, 11:05:11 pm
Had a customer moan about water streaks on his stone porch today, blaming my pure water. Sure enough it was badly streaked. Re-constituted stone i suppose, but the funny thing is none of the stone windowsills had streaked. The only difference i could see was the lead flashing strip above the porch - anyone else found his? Does lead stain - i know it stains glass over a long period but this house is only a year old.  ???

Lead stains if it isn't treated with patination oil when its installed. Your WFP won't stain any more than rain would,.. defo not your fault as there will be a lot more rain than WFP water hitting the stones.

you always notice marks on a tiled roof coming off the lead flashing of a chimmney slows moss growth but usually takes a few years for this to happen
