hi,

Should I di my water before it gets to the tank on my van or not? Iv`e been told to always di your water in garage as if you di in van it puts to much strain on pump as it has to push the water through the vessel first ?

And then finding out that your resin was spent, and your stuck with a load of water that isn't 0 tds.

Best option is to use DI after RO to tank, and then from Tank to pump to DI. So essentially 2 DI's, resin will last a lot longer as well.

I have not found it puts a strain on the pump at all, they are xxxPSI pumps, a bit of pressure increase from a DI vessel won't be a problem at all I don't think.

Isn't it more cost efficient to DI after the tank as the water flows through the di more slowly meaning the resin will last longer.

I RO into a static tank at home, and have 2 DI vessels in the van. The DI's are before the tank, so I just pump the water from the static tank through the DI's and into the van tank.

The biggest advantage is that if I ever run out of water on a job, I can fill up on site and keep on working. DI after the pump should work too,.. I've never heard that it'd damage the pump.

DI in van.
My water goes through it from the tank in the van, so it's polished off whilst i'm working.
If you do run out whilst out working you have the option to fill up from customers if they don't mind.
Just keep an eye on TDS each day, but if it starts to creep up whilst your working i wouldn't worry as i have cleaned with TDS 15 before and still had a quality finish.
