anyone else notice that Ionics has incresed price of there short little poles for downstairs windows from about £18 to £50+ great opportunity for another company to take over making this pole needs to be about 3-4foot long could be improved by not haing that telescopic bit in the middle that's where it gives out after about 3 months. If you want an old one to look at contact me suppliers

£50 dont sound a rip off for a 4ft pole with brush and hose. Loads of suppliers do small poles, i got mine off Omnipole, it's 4ft came with a brush and loads of hose and was read to go, been using it for 9 months plus now.

If you contact Ionics you will learn that they have improved their
residential poles to include double trim brushes and improved
quick release catches. I have bought recently 18 foot multipole
to replace Peters one, well chuffed. Anyway they were way too
cheap before for what they were, and now a whole lot better.
Be grateful. :)

Mmm, Hard for me to comment , my short poe is the Unger one, not too sure what it cost, but was only cheap, it's my most used pole. As I've said before in many posting where poles were concerned, they may not be the best poles, but they are just about the cheapest, one of the lightest and possibly the most versatile.
It didn't come with brush, hose or gooseneck (an angled joint for Unger).
Doesn't need the hose as that is interchangable with the rest of the system,
I think the angled joint is around £10-£15, if you get a brush, well that can be another £20 or £30.
You add those up (plus cost of pole) and you are going to be around the fifty quid mark.
If the Ionics pole comes ready to use with brush and hose then the price soesn't sound so bad.
If it is just the pole......well.....I'm saying nothing, but I doubt I'll get one if that is the case :-\

Dear Ionics
please note that the window cleaners on this site think that you are undercharging for your poles
love all of us.
derrrr ???

HEY choice! I'm not saying they are cheap :o Kcc did, If it doesn't come with brush and hose all ready to use then I would agree that it is expensive.
So does it come as just a pole that you have to add everything too?
Or is it a complete setup with brush and hose?

Yep thats a good price.I had to get three 12foot extensions no hose no brush just lenghts £100.00 pv EACH.

The multi-pole range represent good value for money, its funny no one mentions the reduced prices for other products in the new 2005 price list.
i.e universal carbon poles.
kind regards
Reuben ;)

Just to clarify was referring to cheap price before
not now but good value for money and yes they are
complete with brush and hose and a damn sight easier
to use than unger i had

The truth of the matter is that at £18 we had underpriced the product. We had held that price for many years without increase. After we had improved the specification of the brush, clamp, hose and fittings we re-costed it and priced it accordingly to a level where we may make a little money rather than a small loss.
Actually I'm really pleased with the upgraded version with the new brush they really are very good value.
As Reuben has pointed out the price of some poles was reduced because we have been able to reduce raw material costs by committing to larger volumes.
Kind regards

when i went to order this product as i do on a regular basis there was no explanation of the improvements to the product could you tell us in detail what these are does the joint in the middle still give out can ionics gaurantee this to last 6 months? my point is that i cannot put my customers up 300% can anyone else??? surely it would have been better for ionics to absorb the costs within the product range and get there staff traiined to inform us of any reason for the increase
-
Presumably this will be on the Ionics stand in Birmingham?
I would certainly be interested, paticularly if it is robust and won't fall apart after 6 months :o
But my own pole system is Unger so I don't know if it will be adaptable, some photo's would be nice? Are their any decent ones on the Ionics website?
