hi,

I was wondering if someone could advise on the following:

I have been asked to clean for a Yachting club their clubhouse. Do people add a clause about the cancellation fee and if so how much notice would you expect?

hi there,

good morning kim, got your pm thats all ok, no problems see you tuesday.

regardoing cancellation fees, all depends what you are defining.

cancellation of contract, -- go for between one and three months notice,

cancellation of a clean -- ie not required, that would be at least 50% of thr clean cost, i have in the past charged the whole clean, as if it were done, as it wasnt you who cancelled.

Hi Martin,
                 Regarding cancellation fees, do you charge them when dealing with the major house builders? For example on Friday we had three build cleans for a housebuilder here in Cardiff. Two members of our staff completed the two bedsits no problem, but were unable to even start the two bedroom  apartment because the painters were glossing skirts. Wet paint and lots of dust don't mix so the build clean was put over to Monday.

                I don't like charging a cancellation fee, but I know from speaking to the mastic company on the job that they do. If they're booked in for an apartment and it turns out not to be ready they charge full price every time, and full price again when they actually complete the job another day.

               I'd be interested in your thought's,

hi there.,

we look at each occasion on its merits.  most of the sites we are on, we are on full time, and therefore we are able to change the work plan as required.

on individual one offs, then we will charge.
