Title: Nylon Upholstery

Went to price up a job today, 100% Nylon 3 piece suite.
Tested small area on rear as usual using my preferred cleaner Pureclean, all okay.
Tried some on the armrest that was dirtiest and left dwell for 5 minutes but unusually there was virtually no transfer of dirt onto my white cloth.
I'm thinking this is not gonna be good enough when it comes to cleaning it and wondered if anyone can give me some suggestions on what might work better.....Fabric Restorer???

Priced exactly same thing today Paul. Will be using Fab Rest made up quite hot and giving it a good scrub

Guys give ultrapac renovate hot on the dirtiest parts of the suite and you will be amazed i promise, rinse with fabric / fibre rinse ::)

Contact areas such as arms and head areas are impregnated with body oils, sweat and dirt. Agitation is nearly always required to achieve a decent result.

Dont go too hot on extraction as you can damage nylon pile and re set it.

You mentioned the fibre, but not what the fabric was.

If it's a flocked fabric, there's a risk of damage with Fabric Restorer as it contains solvent(s).

Also, the way you conducted your test isn't that indicative, especially with microsplitters. You should spray and towel immediately. During the dwell, the fabric may have become  too dry.  With most, but not quite all, cleaning systems, you should always agitate then dwell afterwards if required.

i ran out of shampoo for a sofa job so had to use carpet  pre spotter lucky me got away with it ;D ;D ;D

Hi Guys

I would expect Prochem Pureclean to work fine on a 100 %  Nylon suite, use hot about 70C.

The Ultrapac idea is fine provided it is 100% synthetic but do bear in mind it is high pH, so go carefully when taking this approach.
