Post by: John Gregory on July 16, 2008, 02:59:37 pm
Could someone please explain how to post pictures on the forum, I've been trying for the last 12 months and I can't work out how to do it .

Thanks a lot

below the "message box" is "Additional Options" - click on it

you will now see "Attach" and 2 boxes with "browse" at the end of each.
Click on "browse" and browse your computer directories to locate the photos you want show.

Note max size allowed is 10000kb ie high res photos will be too big (and unnecessary for internet posting)

John
C'mon - waiting for your first photo

Clinton
Doing very well - still dont like doing fabric suites though. Did a 3+2+1 today, plus lounge (free) and then Stain Guard.
Took a leaf from Mike Halliday and offered the lounge free if fabric suite cleaned as its quick and easy once your stuff is set up for fabric suite. Charged extra for the Stain Guard though.

Got to make sure they dont book you in to do a leather suite and ask for the lounge carpet cleaned - not good.

Thanks a lot Joe , If taking pictures simply for posting what should I set my camera mb too. So I don't have mess about reducing the size of the image.

Yes, John, 640x480 or VGA is good enough resolution for internet.

I use office picture manager, came with vista.

load up your pic in opm then go to file then click on export.

It then has a pop up with one option that says export this size. There is a drop down menu and you can choose the for the web options.

You will also need a hard hat.

office picture manager also has an edit function that allows you to reduce the size of pictures by a set % and then view the % size so you know how it will look when posted onto a site. I hate to have to scroll up and across to see a full picture :-\

Setting your camera to low-res might be OK but if you wanted to have a hi-res picture but post it on the net too, you'll still need to reduce it.

Try this little program out, called XnView:

h ttp://rapidshare.com/files/130160754/XnView-win-en.rar.html

It's really simple to get the hang of, you can convert, re-size and do simple editing etc all very quickly and easily.

Have a play with it ;)
