Title: used my sl2 today
Post by: ronnie paton on July 15, 2008, 08:31:32 pm
well how light and riged is it!!! it saved me at least an hour from my old super heavy pole i loved it no aches in my neck arms or shoulders well worth the money.

Although i really enjoyed using it a have a few small points, i feel the bottom of the pole may in time get damaged i feel there should be a base, if you are say 5 storeys up and you drop it down to 4 were do you put the sections??if you leave in the floor they could get damaged if you put away the pole is un manned??

but i have to say these small problems can be overcome and this pole is money very well spent!

You can put a special fishing pole bung in the end although my spare base sections came with some nice end caps.

Is the pole telescopic or do you need to add on sections to rach higher?

Its modular, adding sections. Its the bees knees too, Luke

them caps are for the other end though?

The NEW end protectors can meant to be used to protect the base of each section from damage but if you get an extra set then they can be glued in place to stop the sections above from moving to far down and sticking.

Maybe use a glue that can be peeled off in a year or so as the pole wears - I know, you will say that it wont wear if you use plenty of teflon spray  :)

No, my spare sections had full caps both ends. One could be left on the bottom of the pole if required or use a fishing pole bung type thing - about a fiver from a fishing shop.
I use a couple of turns of insulating tape to prevent jamming of sections (it can happen with any modular, especially if it gets a jolt on the bottom).

Have had my sl 2 a few months, brilliant but it will not survive if you step on it. I am on my third No 3 section.Once I trod on it and a month later a gardener did the same at nearly £70 inc p&p it hurts, just dont put on the floor!

try one of these fits all sections and may save you an expensive moment.

The Protecta-Rings fitted to the base of each section should offer full protection against standard knocks.

If you really need more protection then we also sell the adjustable end bungs and they are very cheap.
