Title: how do they do it?
Post by: angela stone on July 15, 2008, 08:05:11 pm
just a bit of a moan....

we are thinking of increasing our prices so we thought we better have a ring a round the locals and see if we are still competitive.

one was £8.75 per hour (use the clients equipment and materials) this was time for you who I think are a big company

then another was £15 per hour for 2 cleaners - translated as £7.50 per hour!

I mean... are they paying their staff like 2 quid an hour!!!

We work inside M25 and charge anything from £12.50 to £18.50 per hour depending on how much we would like the contract (location, hours, storage for equipment etc) however some of our competitors are charging £8 per hour in central london although they are using illegal South American Labour.  there is also one company we know that looks to make 75p per hour and goes purely for volume - they make money but its not how I would want to work!

We do only work in communal parts of residential developments though, dont know about EOT or office stuff.
