Alex does your sub pump come with a float switch and delivery hose?

They do have a float switch, but you have to buy delivery hose separately.

Hi Alex,
How big is it as I have an IBC tank in my garage with a 6 inch diameter hole on the top - does the pump have to sit inside the tank or can it sit on the top of it?

The pump does have to sit inside the tank and at 6 inches, the lid is not big enough for it to fit in. The simple solution that most people use is to cut two slots through the tank, starting on the edge of the lid and going out towards the edge of the tank for about 6 inches. This will allow you to fold the flap open, push the sub pump and hose in, then fold the flap back down and glue or seal into place. The hose and cable can often then be feed through the hole in the centre of the lid (on most lids) and the lid can be screwed back into place.

Sounds like the solution - I have access to another IBC that has a 9 inch hole do you think it would fit in that one?
If I buy shut off valve and delivery hose do you supply the clips with the pump to secure?

Yes it would fit in the 9 inch hole.
We do sell large size stainless jubilee clips.

You will need two of these:
25-40mm stainless steel hose clamp

It's a private conversation conducted in public.
Alex publishes his email address so Wrekin Window Cleaning could have used it.
Alex could easily have suggested that business be conducted by phone or email.
And, for Goodness' sake. What's the point of a posting that reads: "have placed my order with you plus few extra bits"?
I'm coming round to Mr Tumble's point of view.
Can't we have private conversations and adulations kept in their proper place and use the forum as a forum?

While I'm at it, saying thank you to someone is hardly 'adulation', just good manners. Now I'm really cross.
This particular thread was started Alex G - bit of a give away not to look at it if you're not Alex G, if you don't want to. Alex has asked people to email him as much as possible on recent threads if you look back on his posts. Aaaargh - I haven't even got PMT.

There is a simple way of pleasing some folk. It's by keeping private stuff private and using a forum for items of general interest.

Thread locked, Alex does understand, it isn't his fault that people keep using the forum as a private messaging board! But it is also rude and churlish not to reply to a direct question put to him.
The answers given would also help others with similar queries in mind with regards the fitting of a sub pump.
And whenever I see these threads I always reiterate that private business and inquiries be done directly through email or the phone.
