Post by: Pittmonkey on July 13, 2008, 02:54:55 pm
Tried using this stuff to replace a taper pole end screw to my x-tel but cant get the darn thing to stick.

It's suppesed to stick in 5 mins and ready to use in 24 hrs when i check it after 24 hrs the adesive is just the same as it was when I first applied it still wet ???

Anyone have any clues? (Alex  ;D)

Thanks

Most strange. Did the pink and the green sides of the syringe dispense evenly?  My advice would be to clean off both surfaces, mix up a new amount and try again.

If this still won't work, it must be a duff syringe of glue.  Let us know and we'll send you another one.  This stuff when it works is fantastic.

alex i have to say that glue is realy good, but? downside is i dont like the syringe it comes in, the twin stems are far to short, even after wiping the stems clean  of the nozzles, they get  blocked, pity it was not in the original syring i use to get from you that was much better,

I had the same trouble it was because more resin and less hardener squeezed out of the tubes you need to get the same amount of each.

Think that was the problem, just gave it another squeeze and only green came out. Had to open the tube and mix a bit manually, fingers crossed.

Alex, Is this stuff available from B&Q etc? I dont mind picking some up if I need to. Could do with having this pole back for tomorrow.

You can get Araldite Rapid Two Pack Epoxy Resin from B&Q.  Ultimately not as strong as the Acrylic glue but will do the job perfectly well.
