Title: new block of flats on my patch-access to new custom?
Post by: Ste_Kinsella on January 29, 2005, 04:03:01 pm
I forgot to ask on previous post.
I have a new block of 3 storey flats on my round which are ripe for a cleaner.I have been around several times attempting to hand out my cards bit all the entrance doors are security coded and no sign of where the post is delivered. I dont want to be seen lurking around the premises but how has anyone else dealt with this problem.

Blocks of flats that have security coded entrances are generally open for a specified time in the mornings for services like the postie.

I would wait for someone to go or come in and tell them what you are doing and get in there

hi there,

if the keypad has a TRADES button you may find that when you press it, hey presto it releases the door.

Yeah, as above re tradesmen entrance but often only works 7 am to 9 am - so go with cards and put them through the letter boxes without knocking or you'll get chucked out.

Plan B

Press any bell say "I've got some correspondence  for flat (No. whatever - not the one you're ringing) can you let me in so I can put it through the door?" 9 out of 10 they'll let you in. Put one through every door. When you've got one you're in to canvass properly.

Plan C

Wait for the Postie, give him a fiver/tenner for his trouble and ask him to drop an envelope for each flat with a short letter in it about your services.

I clean 31 blocks of flats monthly..Yyou will probably get more luck if you find out who the service company are who look after the flats as the tenents probabbly pay a yearly service charge to the compant who looks after them.
