How long do you spend doing the books weekly ? I have to admit this is my weak spot :-\ . I have got a good business now , but the book keeping thing is holding me back a bit . Over to you hombres ;D
-
5 mins per day, just write the houses i do and what they pay
then in about october, i spend about 2 or 3 wet days doing my accounts
-
Usually everyday, but last couple of weeks every 3 days.
End of year it only takes about 30 hour to an hour to do paperwork for tax man.
-
I have been trying to use George , but as usual with me and technology, not a good mix :'(
-
I have tended to start with good intentions every year and then it slides. :)
I have just spent a day doing paperwork and will spend another half day today. :(
If I did it every day, then it would take me about 5 minutes and another hour or two to do paperwork for the tax man.
-
So it is agreed then ! we must spend a few minuites daily ;D. I really love this site . . . . . priceless ;D
-
About 2 mins a day on George then 5 mins at weekend filling in the spreadsheet.

About 10 minutes for each day worked (sometimes 5). A few extra minutes when banking cheques maybe once a week (I scan and print them all). A few extra minutes once per month while printing work done. Once a year I may take two or three hours or so (depending how organised I've been) collating all the relevant info and meeting my accountant twice.
Really, I suppose this stuff should be taken into account when calculating my hourly rate.

I spend 5 minutes at the end of each day adding up my days takings. At the end of each month I add them up for the month. And then add the lot together at the end of the tax year.
I keep all my receipts and invoices, bank statements and the stubbs from my paying in book. At the end of the year, just use all the info to do your tax return, or hand everything over to your accountant :)

I spend no time at all. I pay £12.50 a week to an accountant and he does it all for me. First job of the week is for the A/C, so in the long run all he costs me is fifteen minutes a week, and the rest of it is working , eating , drinking and sleeping
