Depends on your windfall ;D
But if it was me i would buy everyone on the w/c forum a brand new van fully kitted out with the latest hot wfp system.
Ok m8.. ;D
-
Quite like the look of the Ferrari California.... how big was this windfall again? :P

A Ferrari California.... with a roof rack?
To be honest though, keeping this w/c related... I'm happy with my van and system, but if I had a bit of a windfall, would invest in some good sign writing and an SLX :)
-
Oh, and some nice professional looking leaflets, and some glossy literature to send to potential commercial clients :)
-
Oh Come on Matt whats the budget? ::)
-
get a hot water system matt,
-
lets say the budget is 20 K
-
As jouk45 says get the hot water
-
lets say the budget is 20 K
someones won the lottery
-
If not get it for me ;D
-
lets say the budget is 20 K
Oooo! This is sounding very... erm, "specific".... has a "friend" received this windfall? :P
£20,000 eh.... well, an SLX, nice sign writing, some literature.... and pocket the change :P
-
Something tells me Matt dosnt need all that so thats why hes asking.
-
I reckon invest it in your business. Kit up another van, buy or pay for another round to be built. Certificates etc. Website and stationary. Get a couple of employees working separately.
And spend more time with your daughter while she's growing up. :)
-

Too right... I think I know whos buying the next round :P
-
Go on Matt,.. treat yourself to a van mount and hot setup! You'll never look back!
Spend some of the remaining 19K on a nice family holiday, have some quality time with the little un,... put some in a high interest savings account,...
-
stick it in the bank intrest rates are shooting up so it will be worth more or take me to vegas and i'll make you a millionaire on the blackjack table!
-
At the end of the day Matt i think you know what your going to do with the money.
But then again you never said it was for real.
-
Buy an apartment here:
ht tp://robinson-solutions.blogspot.com/2008/07/window-cleaning-just-got-harder.html
......and then do the window cleaning yourself ::)
-
Ionics thermopure system fitted out in a brand new van like Tennet but with Gardiners SL-X & SL2 both fitted with Tucker brushes and a facelift pole as a spare :)
If it was my own money I'd forget the Ionics thermopure (because I've already got an Omnipole retro fit hot system, the SL-X and the facelift), I'd just need the SL2 and spend the rest on a decent new van :)
If I was a northerner which I ain't I might even consider spending 20k on 2k worth of new work ;D (not) ;D

Here's an off-the-wall idea:
Why not spend some of it investing in your own skills to specialize?
You could, pay to do some powered access training so that you could quote for commercial jobs that require hydraulic boom lifts.
Or you could do some rope training so that you could do absailing work on commercial jobs (I think you need a team of at least 2 for that though). Broaden your repotoir so to speak.
Just a thought.

Invest in yourself- a holiday ;)
-
I would convert my landy to run on chip fat , then invest the rest for ten years. then have a big count up at 50 and retire!
-
buy a lake in france they can be good income, max of six anglers a week at 250 each angler, you could expect to fill it solid for ten mths of a year, then slow window cleaning down to a part time job a week once a mth the rest i would be back a forth from the lake
-
Buy a big round, employ a couple of slaves then build the Matt window cleaning empire sit back and delegate. 8)
-
I don`t suppose you want to buy my beach hut, down here these days there going for around 20k lol. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Ok m8.. ;D
i like this firm :D
-
A nice holiday, a greenhouse and the rest stuck into the mortgage!
-
with that amount of money why not think about making a bigger bussiness, take on a second person to do your present round while you build up more work .
-
Don,t bother with too much expansion its too much hassle, invest a small amount in yr business to make things easier or to increase t/over defiantly a couple of family holidays, lump sum off mortgage or deposit a nice sum into high interest account all would be a wise moves...me myself personally I,d blow the lot on hookers ;)

You saw the No Going Back a few years ago, didn't you? That bloke bought the lake, drained it to see if they could find the supposed 'monster' in it, didn't, filled it back up, put carp in it and took the campers bacon butties in the misty morning!
Me jealous? :P

Buy a property on the Sandbank in Dorset when the recession starts and sell it when the recession's over. Could retire on the profits. :)

I think not Wayne, they are now predicting that sandbanks will be under water in not to many years time so as far as property investments go i wouldn`t.

lol 20k couldnt buy you a paving slab in sandbanks buddy.
-
I would spend it on a really good holiday
-
well ive been thinkng on it, as you do ;), now i understand the big family holiday, i have that booked anyway, this oct in orlando ;) again ::) ::) ::)
a. Buy a new VW T5 sportline with the middle seats fitted, thus i would have a nice " day van" that would seat 6 and my work stuff behind that all --- i have a T4, its looking old BUT still does the job
b. invest in a vacation club ( disneys or marriott's ) , holiday in style for the next 40 odd years for a 1 off payment than a small yearly fee
c. buy a share in a property in orlando area ( i have interested parties from the last time i looked at his ( a few years ago )
d. pay it off the mortgage --- a bit boring, but i guess the sensible option
e. invest in something completely different and run it alongside my window cleaning
f. spend some of it on equipment, as ive spent hardly anything on my kit, yes my kit still does the same job, but i sometimes see others and think, why dont i buy a flashy pole etc etc ( then i remmber my pole does the same job and forget that silly idea )
-
All depends if you want to blow it or invest it i supose. Investing would be the sensible thing to do but blowing the money gives a good feeling only it won't last. What about your other half? Bigger house with a double garage for your ibc tank? What does she think?
-
pay off your debt, mortgage cards etc etc.
If i aint broke why fix it?
-
have 6 months off!!!
-
Hire a hitman to get anyone who grasses up ladder users.

do what makes you and your family happy, moeny is not everything but it helps.
I would not buy in the us at the mo unless you are mental housing there is in a downward spin and getting faster, half off motgage newer van and maybe a holiday, why not try a nice pole aswell ;D

This £20k appears to be elastic... :P
