In the process of setting up a CC business, nearly chosen the machine, but have yet to get a van, I was thinking along the lines of Citroen Berlingo or Renault Kangoo, would these be big enough?
What's the most popular van for a newbie?
Budget wise, i'm looking at around £3,500 to £4,500 + vat
-
FIAT Doblo cargo's top van and have had nothing go wrong with it. try www.vansdirect.co.uk Soem great deals on their.
-
Cheers Neil, I'll take a look.
-
We started off with a Berlingo 2.0HDi and it served me well for a good couple of years, had an Extracta Exel and all the associated gear in it quite comfortably. We fully plylined it and put some shelving up high on the bulkhead for containers and put cargo railing all around for anchorage points for bungees to hold everything in place.
We've still got the van but now it's used by the girlies for domestic cleans, Y reg 118,000 miles or more on the clock and still running well.

Hi Richard
I went for a Ford Transit connect after looking at all small vans in the range. If you go for the powrflite machine everything fits in snugly which is what you want, no need to tie everything down and i think its a good looking vehicle with plenty of clean panel space for sign writing, also I would go for white.
Cheers Paul

I wish I had bought a bigger van than my combo, no side door and sometimes you want a rotary in there as well and it's a squeaze.
Quite often a swb bigger van is cheaper to buy, but oviosly a bit heavier on fuel, but if you do a small radius it's not a problem.
-
the best things are v.w. caddys (new shape) with a side door but i dont think ull get a good one with that kind of money
but second to these are pug experts twin side doors and carry a tonne if you need too i got one here its a 54 reg 60k on the clock i give 3600 for it
-
My first van was a peugot expert. Now have a transit connect for the portable

Len, i've got a vw passet estate at the moment, but i don't think it will be big enough with all the kit etc, plus its the only car and i don't want to be swapping baby gear and carpet cleaning equip every 5 mins!
-
Richard
What make you think you will be hard at it every day? I do admirer your optimism.
Pete
Any freebie tickets need four.
Len
-
I don't, but better an optimist than a pesimist, otherwise I wouldn't bother in the first place.
I also have another business which I do part time, which will help, hopefully!
-
Will be looking at Peugeot Partner in Sept....... new shape long wheelbase comes out. Nearly same capacity as Expert but a smaller van ...... still 3 seat option :o

Kids at in laws.License to drink like a bloke that when he says how do you do it sounds like a crocodiles last breath.
Jason, you are probably on 27th shandy bass (seeing a a real beer turns you into peter Sutcliffe) and Mike, you are running out of witty jokes because you are drinking real beer that means the different sections of your brain that allow systematic coherence have fallen out because one corner feels another should have contributed to the cab fair, another corner (the ugly one) has fallen out with another because it pulled a bird with ease that you have been eyeing all night and another one because despite he's a fat, sweaty, bling wearing, sexist is earning more money (channe4 racing) than your real section (conscience) he earns 8 times more than you
-
Shandy bass :o
Do me a favour was drinking that in my bottle at 18 months ;D
Good training for years ahead!
Looking forward to meeting up with you and the Davemiester at the show, should be a good laugh!

Looking forward to the odd trip down to sunny kent to steal some of your high paying custys ;D ;D ;D
Pocket full of business cards at the ready ;)

I don't think it was your comments, in fact they were suprisingly lucid. Churchill won us the war on a bottle of whisky a day.
Just had an email from Roger but contained no product info just banging on about stuff on here.

There's a Renault Kangoo in the equipment for sale section which should be adequate as a start up vehicle, only £1100. Must be worth a look.
