At default shut off pressure (100PSI, C digital display) even at setting 0, the water blasts out at about 3l from the brush head, way to much, in order to get usable flow rates, about 1.7lpm, I have to turn the shutoff pressure from C (default) to 7 (C,B,A,9,8,7), which then gives me around 1.5-2lpm.
Why does this happen? I've got the 8000-946-138 shurflo, which is recommended by williamson pumps.
1 pole user, and 100m of minibore.
Just don't understand, I use a shutoff valve, so the pressure builds up everytime I switch from window to window, open the valve, and boom, water blasts on the window.

Have you disabled the pressure switch on the pump? This should be done.
when you turn off the flow, the system will pressurise to either 100PSI or the pressure you have selected on the Varistream, either way you will get and initial spurt when that pressure is released.
I can't help with the flow rate, I have the old mark 2 Varistream with the potentiometer, and that sometimes has a mind of it's own where flow rate is concerned, but fiddling with the dial usually lets me get the desired rate.

Change to minibore and see what happens.

Yep disabled pressure switch, thing is though, from the brush head it's like 3lpm, it's crazy. Will the pump then pump 3lpm aswell or not? So will the flow rate still be the same then?

you will get a greater pressure using the hose that you are using. the varistreams are designed for use with half inch hose. (standerd garden hose)

So, you have THREE parameters not two.
Set pressure to A, cut off to 6 & flow to 1, this works for me with the same set up apart from i have 80m of minibore not 100m.

When you un-plug your pole (if you have a water stop connector on) it's the electronic replacement of the mechanical pressure switch. If you get these three parameters set up right your water won't blast out when you re-connect your pole as the pump will have cut out when it sensed a pressuer build up. It will then restart as normal on re-connection. ;)

No worries, I also got no instructions with mine & so had to go through the same thing. ;)
It can take quite a few attempts to get it all set up to work at it's best & mine's still not without fault, about 90% good.

Sorry to resurrect the thread, but I don't think the 3 different settings is correct. The numbers and letters when you press + and - have to be the same, because basically, the PSI of the pump is regulated by the shut-off pressure, which can be altered, when it senses a pressure increase, it then stops the pump at a certain PSI right? So you can't have a different setting for that.

So you can't have a different setting for that.
As far as i'm aware, the pressure setting is supposed to enable a constant flow rate at any height, you need more pressure to push water 60ft up a thin pipe than you do at ground level BUT you still want the pump to cut out at the same pressure level i.e. not blasting out on re-connect at either 60ft or 4ft.
I'm no expert but this is how i see it. ;)
