it's 95% flotex throughout a school.
job will lead on to other big contracts but it does rather tie up my time.
this one is to be done twice a year. i reckon i can do it in 5 days with truckmount and scrubba.

this has bean read 61 times and its quite easy for anyone to answer ::) but no one wants to say how much they charge.
if it'll take a week then I'd charge betreen £1600-£2000 if I went on the area around £2200.

thanks for the help.
i know it's a hard one to ask. i have it down to around £1600 but i know they are going to beat me up over the price. now i have some idea what others would charge i can stand firm.
i have the chance of many more of these jobs. up to 47 i believe it's going to kill me.
anyone need some work??

Who wants an extra £2,000 of work?
Everyone say yeah!!!

Hi Jim
I would use Texatherm, safe on Flotex and very quick drying.
You would cover the ground a lot quicker using this system and with less strain.
Where are you located and what areas are the other sites in?
-
Woodman, he did'nt just ask how, he also asked how much ;)
how muck to Texatherm this amount of carpet?

Is it me but I cant believe some of these quotes.
2650 sq mtrs is a very large area, I was thinking somewhere in the region of £4000.00.
A school fitted with flotex is going to be really badly soiled, Flotex is hard work using HWE and some Flotex can look no different visually (spell) after it has been cleaned.
Certainly wouldnt do it for less than £3000.00, you are going to need help on an area this big.
Good luck

Hi Mike,
The area he is cleaning, if definitely Flotex is over £30k worth of carpet.
I would be around the 3K mark for a one off, if he gets all 47 then that would drop to around £1600 as already mentioned which I think is about the right figure for a large contract like this (maybe even less to secure).
I agree with Phil that he would need help which he has already identified himself.
But as I have already mentioned I would not HWE it.

Didnt think Texatherm worked on flotex or any rotary for that matter??????
For this I would price around £3000, based on my hourly rate, but I have a portable and would dread doing this job.
It sounds like a good opportunity but it could also break you existing business relationships/contracts.
If I where you I'd get a few cleaners together and get it all done in two days.

Try it on your next Flotex job Mark
Up the prespray a bit and clean as normal you'll be amazed.

TCS actively promote their Texatherm machine and system as being suitable for use on Flotex.
Safe and happy cleaning :)

Not adviseable to use Dry Fusion on Flotex. Could damage the machine.
Safe and happy cleaning :)

what is the differance between Texetherm and dry fusion. stupid me i thought they where roughtly generic versions of each other.
-
Jim
Although they both give good cleaning results, the chemistry and the machines are quite different. From memory, the Texatherm just cleans using (I think) an alkaline pre spray and a hot acidic bonnet/rinse. The Dry Fusion System uses a higher rpm machine with an added heater, the cleaning solutions are pH neutral and they clean, de-odourise, heat dry and Stain Protect all in the one operation. An alternative chemical is available which will do all of the above but also heat bond an anti-microbial to the fibre surface too.
safe and happy cleaning :)

How much chewing gum or blue tac on the carpets ???
Can be a nightmare doing school carpets, damn stuff everywhere!
It all depends how busy you are, will you lose other regular customers because you are tied up on this job(s)?
I wouldnt take it on myself, better suited to a large company with many staff.
Have a good think about it ;)

chris
not much of either-tac or gum
and yes your right my nice (have a cup of tea) high value get to see a lot of the country side work has to be taken into account. as for the larger company should do it -- well hopefully one day soon, that will be my company!!!

To cover this type of work I prefer to work with a small team of 3.
One of the 3 to keep things ticking over, water, waste and pre spray all topped up, etc. So no hold ups.
The second to apply pre spray (microsplitters) and aggitate with a rotary and either charlie pads or bonnets.
With all soiling loosened this simply leaves me to extract at a decent pace.
Regarding the time taken, it is hard to say without seeing it with my own eyes, but at a guess 3 days and a price in the region of £1600 to £1800.
