Title: self bl**dy cleaning glass

hi,need some advice on a conservatory roof with self cleaning glass,custy has asked me to clean the roof and his ali roof spars(thought i'd use tfr for this)has anyone any experience using this combination?i'm trad at the moment-but have an unger water fed brush and pole-would this sratch the glass? ??? ???hope you all can help-kevin

Yup ... been there , exactly same   job , big conservatory , cant go on roof , an claen trad , got a L shape con , cannt get clean stroke with  blade on my long  extension , spent hours on it , thought i was getting there till i checked from inside  ...AWFULL, sun showed  streakes allover the place , and I gave up  apologised  , and didnt carge ...Mind you , when sun went in  , what I had done didnt look to bad. If custy had allowed me up there it wouldnt have been any prob, boards of conservatory ladder next time ,

The water fed brush shoudn't damage the glass, but go easy on bird poo. It can contain grit so let the water do the work and don't scrub it hard.

The manufacturers claim that you can simply rinse with tap water and it will run off leaving the surface spotless.

Try it and see.

All conservatories have to be built so the roof can be walked on although I wouldn't like to try it.

Its a big problem for these customers because nearly all the new conservatories have this glass in the roof. One of my customers just had a huge conservatory built and I commented on cleaning the roof. "oh it doesn't need cleaning its self cleaning glass"
Yeah right

I sense a good business opportunity here. Buy a conservatory ladder and go for it.
