Hi All,
A about 6 weeks ago I bought a pure freedom trolley with a 300gpd RO system and DI filter.
I am new to WFP so know nothing about it the filtration method.
How often do I need to flush my RO system and for how long?
Also how often do I need to change the resin in my DI? How do I change it? Where do I get the resin from? And how much does it cost?
Sorry about all the questions but my water has gone from 000 to 001 and I was wondering what could have caused this.
Many thanks in advance.
Dean.

Im sure they said flush once a week for 15 mins, and change resin every 3 months which seems quick to me as ive had mine for about 4 months just filled 600 liters and got ooo tds reading.

Pure freedom sell the resin mate and you can also try Alex Gardiner (Gardiner pole systems) he's a forum member and I bought my last bag of resin from him.

Dean,
I'm up your way at the end of July in Rugeley so give us a bell if you still need any help.
Andrew M is on this forum so why not try this topic for the attention for him and I'm sure he will be able to help you out being Pure Freedom.
It does seem pretty quick for your resin to go so there could be a problem.

Hi, I got mine from pure freedom. I gave them a call last week and they are very helpfull. Just give them a call Iam sure they can sort this for you. Is your tap water tds high as this will have a direct effect on you resin life.
Cheers Mart.

I have the Pure Freedom 300gpd and DI unit and get between 1500-1800ltrs of '000' water before having to change the resin cartridge.
My Tap reading is around '400'and I flush the system once a week for 15-20 mins.
I did notice however, that the last batch of new DI cartridges from Pure Freedom were a different design and didn't last as long.
When I opened up an old one and a new one side by side to check them they didn't appear to have as much resin in them as they have a block of other filter material in them. I don't know what it is but it looks the same as the material in one of the prefilters. I don't really see the point of this as all it seems to do is reduce the capacity for the resin thus giving you less pure water per cartridge.

buy a 25kg bag of resin and refill the di yourself, much cheaper

How do you refill it mate?
Take the cartridge out and push the resin in?
Thanks,
Dean.

I've got one cartridge left from my last purchase but I'll be refilling them from now on. On the old ones you unscrew the top and on the new ones you unscrew the bottom. Once you've got them apart you'll see how to refill them. It's quite straight foward.

Thanks Mark.
Where do you buy your resin from and how much is it?
Ive seen that pure freedom sell a 5l bag for 19.99 or am I best buying 25kg.
How much resin does it take to fill the cartridge?

I haven't purchased a bag of resin yet as I still have one last cartridge to use. But even the 5ltr bag would probably give you great savings as it would give you about 8 refills
