what is involved in this side of things, think its around 600 pound a year to have one. then you pay for water you use on top.
expensive stuff! :o

i spoke to one guy years ago and his mate nicked him a pipe from the water board and he fills up wherever free, another guy fills his up from a fire hydrant in the road at night free. im sure they will get caught one day, but they said no one sees them to catch them?? do people check these things? ???

i have one once you have got the licence the water cost is very small just a few pence per thousand litres. the price of licence can vary depending on the area can remember the exact amount ours was but it was less than £600
-
well even if it was 500 quid its still dear with water cost on top, i know someone that fills up at the docks, he sucks the water into his tank to fill up.

Got caught by Cambridge Water once... I pooed my pants... threatened me with fines and all sorts but never heard a dickie bird.
I won't be doing that again though... licenced stand pipe or nothing for me.
Having said that I have only needed to use a stand pipe on 2 occasions in 4 years so not sure it is worth the hassle unless the custy is paying for the hire of it.

more often than not there is a water supply at the venue but sometimes its a pain running hoses off toilet taps kitchen taps etc and having the hoses running through the buildings to keep your tank topped up. what do you think?
-
21 litres per minute!
Phew! That's some supply you need.
At that rate, you will definately need a stand pipe.
-
21 litres a minute is what my machine uses and most taps do not keep up, so sat about for 40 minutes waiting for tank to fill can be a real pain with a standpipe the tank is full in a couple of minutes so i think its worth the money.
-
You might get under an of work without filling a 100 litre up :D 100 litres look and sounds a lot lol..
-
I bought one from the build centre was using it one day bloke from 7 trent walked past didnt even look botherd keep using it and when someone says i cant ill say sorry and carry on as before.
-
well i have work out that with my big machine running at 13 litres a minute i could get over an hour from 1000 ltr tank but with my smaller machine i could get 2 hours which is great for doing small patios and drives easy! without need for custyies water supply, also for doing shop fronts like cafe's, pubs etc to save running hoses to kitchen taps or sink taps which is a pain ! what you think?

I have a stand pipe that i got of Ebay for £65.00 and the license from Thames Water £200.00 for the year and i can draw up to 1000ltrs a day from all over the county so its a good rate at £265.00 all in.
All the best.

You can buy them from builders merchants for about £40.00
