Title: Van sign writing
Post by: Steve Barnett (Carpet Care Plus) on June 22, 2008, 06:12:22 pm
Got to get the sign writing changed on my van.

Got a logo, web address, phone no's - but how much more info do you show ?

Any photos of your own vans would be useful to give me some ideas, I dont want to swamp the van with info, but I do want it to attract interest.

What about the serices you provide. Someone told me an offer on the back is good.

How are you getting on with Office Accounts? I'm sat here messing with it at the moment.

Hi Mike

Must admit after loading it, I very quickly got bored. I'm not clued up with spreadsheets, there must be a bog standard simple to use system. Until I find it then its back to longhand ledgers.

Yeah, it's not top of my to do list. ;D

I'm more interested in the Business Contact Manager that comes with Outlook. Great for marketing. You can take that client list and it's all there for invoices etc on Office Accounts.

ps get one of those plastic business card holders for your van.

Very smart Adrian - definately the less is more approach, straight to the point.

You're not far from me, I'm in Tadworth.

Hi Steve

Have a mess about on this website - www signprint co uk, follow the links for vehicle design, its what I used. its a bit trial and error and the only way to get a print off when your happy (unless you use that company) is to do a screen dump(print screen button), then open it and zoom in.

I personally prefer the less busy looking designs, too much information looks messy I think.

Take it round a few van grahics places see who will give you the best deal, emphasize the fact that you have done the design for them, so it's just a supply and fit job.

I think you have to keep to 2 or three colours and keep it simple. Blues and yellows are fresh colours and give the feeling of trust. You need your phone number, list of services and logo.
