is there good money to be made in upvc cleaning?
-
Yes but repeat business is only on a yearly basis generally. It makes a good bonus to window cleaning.

Is the pope catholic ? :P

I offer the opportunity when i quote windows to include the fascias and gutters, for an extra price.
I emphasise this means they will never get green again and would be maintained only. I find they only need (after the initial clean) a quick brush over twice a year to keep them looking good.

sounds good, do you leaflet drop to get your business?
-
it must be old people who dont no any better ...pay that sort of money 75-100 quid
your having a laugh...price you charge
fair play to ya if you can get away with it..

wot kind of prices do you charge m8?
-
ME.. iam doing a bungalow on friday morning £80.00
it should take 2-3 hours thers no way i could charge £300 quid
a standard size semi detached house pvc fascias gutters & downpipes £450 fitted
1.5 -2 hours to clean £150- 200 they would tell me to slide on
if you dont ask you dont get and think its about time i asked for a little bit more
-
I go at about £1.50 a foot for guttering sofit and fascia, so normally you'll be looking at around £30 a side. I go for a little more with an apex as it's much more hassle getting up there. Big areas if cladding on houses are easy money, you can put in a price of say £20 and they take no time at all.
We did one this morning dormer style so 4 lots of gutters and fascias in total, cladding and an apex and only charged £90, could have charged a bit more I suppose but 2 of us did the job in an hour. We had windows in the street to do as well. We booked in 3 more bungalows for next time as well, another 2 hours work at about £170.
Yes I could charge a bit more, but pricing well and getting it with repeat business year on year is better than pricing astronomically and not getting it.

i work on day rate from 150 to 175 , this all depends on what the customer is looking for in quality of clean white upvc , the prices can change depending on cleaning solutions being used

I wish i could get that price with my customers. I'm still burdened with customers who i priced too cheap for the work when i started 4 years ago. sigh... :'(
what do you do to it to charge that price?
I earn an extra £40 per year on a 3 bed detatched bungalow by bunging it in with my windows price.
This means cleaning with wfp only first. And 1 or 2 more quick brushes over the year. It takes around 50 minutes over the year.
Do you do it by hand and use a polisher? How long would it take?

when somebody asks me to clean upvc i just tell them i can wipe it down and normally charge them the same price as the windows but tell them i can just wipe them down, then tell them if they want them to come up brand new i put them onto this other guy..

you live in a mobile home ? Can you give me a price for tarmac on my front drive ?

i use to use pvc cleaner when i was trad and i always underestimated how long it would take.
I mix some tfr up and spray that on 1st on really green bits then rinse with a pole and tap water if they have a tap.
The only trouble with using wfp only is that it has always left faint dark water marks where the remaining dirty water has pooled underneath the gutter. I either run a cloth over them or give them a quick rinse the following month.
