Title: Help, help and help again
Post by: davids3511 on June 17, 2008, 09:40:32 pm
Ok, I have been a Window Cleaner almost a year now and need some help and advise.

I have managed to build it up to about 250 monthly customers and that is about all I can manage in a month. I have a few problems though-

I work out of a car with a backpack. Most of the houses I work on are 30's style with double bays at the front and usually two first floor, french doors downstairs at the back with about 3 windows at the side. I posted about this before with pictures and got varying replies from 10 minutes to 30 minutes. I cannot get them done in under 30 minutes with any degree of a good finish. If I hit 15-20 minutes I don't get spotting, I get runs from the rubbers. I use setting 2 on the backpack which is about 1 litre a minute.

How do you guys who can hit 15-20 minutes do it?

There is no set time on how long it should take, every window cleaner works at a different speed!! Without talking about hourly pay etc etc, if it takes you 30 mins per property for an excellent finish then thats 2 an hour at least so it can't be too bad!!! if they are well priced. Its better to take your time than rush and do a rubbish job, it took me well over a year to get my speed up both trad and wfp, been at it a while now and i am quick but i think about the finish more than the time it takes!!!
Just stick with it and you will speed up.
