I have been wearing blue overshoes in the custy houses for years and have never had a problem until today, upon where i was walking down the stairs and hey presto ive slipped resulting in me dislocating my shoulder. I slipper on the 2nd from top stair, i was carrying the wand in my left hand, wand got caught in the banisters and i carried on down while my arm got pulled backwards. Ouch was not the word. Got up feeling rather sick and dizzy only to find the customer going "2oh my god look at your arm" upon where i look down to find my arm all limp and a Quasimodo hump on my left shoulder. Long story is after beiing in the hospital for several hours and having two female (one who was rather nice - helped with some pain reelif) nures pull back into place and now face several weeks of pain >:(
Just thought i would share this story just so you guys dont have the same accident lol

Yeah the customer is a regular, and lucky enought she is decorating the hall and landing. As ive said i have never done anything like this as i am careful, but the overshoes were just a bit damp and i just slipped like i was on ice. I had just finsihed a filthy white wool bedroom and was walking down with thewand to turn truckmount off and just went. Customer was fine, more worried and shocked about my shoulder. She helped me take my top off ( was wearing a vest) made me a cold drink while i sat down and almost passed out - really strange feeling like you wanna vomit. After about 10 ins i managed to use my right arm to pack up some bits while i waited for my sister who was working 10mins away to come in her van and finish packing and take me to hospital. i did not even ask for the money, she just gave it my sister and she gave me a £5 tip

I feel for you as I did the same about 18 months ago. As I left a customer I slipped and dislocated my right knee, never in my whole life have i experienced such pain, the worst bit is when they put it back in. 18 months on and I still have problems with it now.
I Wish you a speedy recovery, my advice to you is rest rest rest and milk the sympathy from the missus for all its worth lol

Yep, the putting it back in was a bitch, although the pop as it went in was quite nice after it being out for a few hours. The swelling is amazing tho

I've dislocated me left shoulder FOUR TIMES! apparently the way mine comes out (drops about 8in out of the socket, arm like an uranatang) is the most painful. Trust me you've done it once it WILL happen again.
-
How clumsy are you Justin!! :o was it from carrying your weekly takings to the bank ;)
I take a pair of vans and make sure the custy sees me changing into them.

My daughter did the same to her knee, you need to build up the muscles around the knee (like scaffold), try putting weights on your ankles and while watching TV do the letters of the alphabet A-Z. Keep on doing this and your knee will cope with future stresses.
Sorry to hear of your pain..hope this helps.

I remember a few years ago I fell off a worktop and dislocated my right shoulder. It felt bad but the feeling of it being completely out of place was worse! I managed to wack it back into place which was kin painfull. It couldn't have been completely dislocated though cos there's no way your gonna get it back yourself ::), but it still iritates to this day though :(
Dont ask me what I was doing on a worktop :P
