I am a trad wc today I was cleaning a small block of flats ground and first floor when I got dive bombed by several seagulls. Appearently they had a nest on the roof with young in it, so did not like me going near ( I was a good seven foot below the top of roof). Anyone else had this, and what did you do.

When I was trad, I used to leave the windows where their nests were and inform the clients. Now I'm WFP, if anything they just tend to attack the brush and if they give me hassle, I give them a squirt!
(I've just re-read what I've posted - I squirt the birds, not the clients :D )

When I was trad I used to get this problem with house martins, they come within inches of your head and don't stop until your gone and when your up the ladder its not funny. :o
I used to just put bike clips on ;D ;D

I can just imagine the looks you'd get.
The bit about it not being a wind-up, for some reason it seemed you really meant that, and it just reminded me of the character in the Burt Reynolds film 'Deliverance', the kid standing on the bridge playing the banjo, he'd do that kind of thing with the bamboo
;D

They are an absolute menace, they should go round the towns and shoot every last one of them, they are mugging people in Llandudno, swooping down and knocking bags of chips out of peoples hands.
I have nothing against herring gulls when they are in their own environment, but the town dwellers have become bin robbing, flying rats.
It's all down to day trippers and holiday makers feeding them, I would pass a bylaw, fining people for doing it.
