I have been using pureclean and getting fantastic results but have wondered if the directions for using a hydrofoce sprayer are true?? I have been using 8 scoops per litre whichs seems a lot?? ???
Also i seem to use a lot of chemical when using the sprayer and have brought some new jets and a metering tip kit from hydramaster. Can anyone tell me what is the best tip to use so i can have the correct chemcial ratio.
Many thanks

Personally I think the Hydroforce puts too much down and MS is supposed to be used more sparingly, I would however use Mpower or Nemesis as that is supposed to be put down more generously.

Hi Luc
My experiences were with the similar low pressure Spraymaster, and I was using a 100psi portable at the time and with One Step.
Firstly, the supplied Spraymaster jet was an 06. A large jet is necessary because of the flow required to draw up the stock solution concentrate. The smallest advised, which I used, was an 03.
With One Step and the Solution brand, so I presume other micro splitters are similar, they perform best when lower volumes of the solution are used. I found with the Spraymaster, like yourself, that I was using far too much product, so after a while I went back to a pressurised sprayer. Worked perfectly for me.
As for your stock solution, I can't advise, ask Prochem. But remember, the stock solution is further diluted by your Hydroforce sprayer in use.
The Spraymaster had four different models. Low pressure and high pressure, plus variable dilutions via a dial or fixed dilutions varied only by different coloured/size restrictors.
Safe and happy cleaning :)

According to the instructions it should be 1 scoop per litre on prespray and 1 per 5 Litres in the main tank.

Hi Luc,
I use pureclean as a pre-spray diluted at 1 scoop pre litre and get top results.

neil,
The instructions do say 8 scoops per litre for hydroforce pumps, i have only ever used 1 scoop per litre tho
Mark

mark do you use a hydroforce pump then, if so do you mix 1 scoop per litre.
thanks luc

It is 40 scoops to fill your 5 litre hydroforce sprayer. I suggest you obtain a smal plastic container that fits 40 scoops inside it and use that once rather than going through the tedious process of counting 1 scoop 40 times.

Am I missing something?
If the prespray rate is 1 scoop per litre
Why are people putting 40 scoops into a 5 litre container?
-
Because a Hydroforce dilutes again at typicaly 8-1
-
Because a hydroforce forces your chemical stock (mix) into the passing wayer from your machine further diluting it.

neil,
a hydroforce is not a normal sprayer, look at a carpet cleaning supplier, than you will understand. It will all make sense then

I have just come from a job where I used only 8 scoops of Pureclean in the hydroforce using only hot water to extract and came away with amazing results, carpet was a beige wool mix and was also heavily soiled. Custy was well chuffed and rewarded me with a £10 tip!
40 scoops in my opinion is a ridiculous number to use, not only are you going to get through a 4 kilo tub in no time at all but also you have to make sure that those 40 scoops of powder are broke down otherwise eventually the inevitable is going to happen!!
I used Alltecs Ultimate Master last week with only using 2 scoops in the hydroforce and again with outstanding results!
Experiment a bit to get used to different products, agitate and dwell, you will be amazed with what results you can achieve with minimal dilution rates!

If you are only putting 8 scoops of Pureclean in your Hydroforce, you are either only adding this to 1 litre of water or you are not using your Hydroforce at 8:1 or else you are only using 20% of the recommended amount advised by the supplier of this product.
On the otherhand you may just be cleaning technically clean carpets!
What Nigel W posted is totally correct: 40 scoops to 5 litres for a Hydroforce set to 8:1
-
Yeah correct I'm only using 20% of the recommended amount as advised by Prochem, but I'm still getting fantastic results, so why would I feel the need to add an extra 32 scoops?
This was no "technically clean carpet" but a heavily soiled well used "family" carpet that responded fantastically!
I'm not saying what Nigel W posted was wrong because it states the instructions quite clearly on the Pureclean tub, I'm only stating what results i had using such fewer scoops.
I'm sure everyone would want to use less fuel but gain more miles!

Wayne if your using a truckmount and last set chemical injection then your stock solution of chemical is going through the hydraforce, this would most likeley be why your getting good results with only 8 scoops

Hi David, so if that's the case then 40 scoops is not needed to get the results your after but as I said in my 1st post re this thread I only used hot water to extract, my truckmount was primed to off so no stock solution was coming through as I wanted to keep the pH minimal due to Pureclean being 9 and I was cleaning a wool carpet.
Im only giving my example as to what I used and whether people deem it right or wrong that's fine with me, but as long as I'm getting amazing results then obviously I feel there is no need for me to increase the amount of scoops I'm using. I'm sure there will be a time when I will have to increase the amount I'm using but I still see 40 a little excessive, going back to the reason why this subject was started by Luc as he obviously also felt the same.
I used Ultimate Master last week with only 2 scoops and on a seriously heavily soiled carpet, used Sebo to agitate then allowed sufficient dwell time, results were again fantastic which has also generated in a lot more work from that custy through there friends and family.

Generalising about microsplitters.
You don't need much product on the carpet to be effective.
If the solution is too lean, you'll need to apply more solution.
It would appear that the way Luc is using his Hydroforce, he's using too lean a stock solution, but making up for it by applying more of it (almost inevitable with an in-line sprayer).
My conclusion is that it would appear that the way Luc is working, he's applying the right amount of product, or perhaps more than required, but more water than is required to be effective. Fortunately, with a T/M and good wand technique, he's able to compensate for the extra water laid down.
If it works, why change?
Safe and happy cleaning :)

Exactly Sir Ken, why change what works?

If Wayne can get Pureclean to work at 20% recommended strength, then great. Afraid I can't or if I can it would not be guaranteed success everytime. Can't afford to respray carpets a second time if it doesn't produce first class clean with initial prespray.
But then maybe I could be lacking in "good wand technique" as Ken says. Keep coming across this term at regular intervals. Would love someone to elaborate what this actually consists of.
Always ask when I read it, but never get a response. Maybe this time is my lucky time! Ken!!! :-*
