Can you be a bit more specific? Maybe a photo or two?

Only gutter jobs I've ever done are on bungalows and it's been really time consuming:

Stage 1 - up a step ladder, and a trowel and bucket job.

Stage 2 - on the ground, and wash with wfp

Stage 3 - back up the step ladder and do the fiddly bits right behind the gutter and up inside the brackets with a microfibre.

(That's why I've only done bungalows - no way I'm working off a ladder at ten feet.)

I'd priced well, but finished up making a crap hourly rate because it took so long.

I have been doing the same for years with the same pole and same attachment. Works well for me.

I haven't got a gutter vac but use the gutter lance with pressure washer.
Before that it was ladders with a gutter pole i think i got from a sunday magazine for £20.
I have drain rods to use on the downpipes if needed.

bare hands and trowel for me,take a bucket up to put it in,find they are easier to do after rain
If its wet because of the rain, how do you get the sludge out by hand?  A sponge?

I use a painters telescopic pole with the wifes desert spoon attached to the end with pvc tape,on a semi you only need to go up the ladder twice on each side of the house and pull the dirt to you, then into a bucket hanging of a bungee, then a wire coathanger opened up clears the downpipe followed by a bucket of water, any dirt marks on the gutter are wiped away with a teatowel.

i find it easier after the rain too just use a trowel and wash the rest down with a hose pipe and give the down pipes a good blast..
