Title: If you started again what size tank would you choose?
Post by: Pj on June 12, 2008, 11:34:09 pm
If weight wasn't such a deciding factor how much water would you carry for the day?

I have recently fitted a water meter to my tank outlet to check my usage and I use between 200 & 500 litres per day...so for me a 650l is just right for those special days where I need that little extra.

I started with a 250litre tank and would not advise one that small unless you do not do a lot of wfp.

Cheers
Dave.

About 1.5 litres per minute.

We have a 500 litre tank in the vehicle that does all of our domestic rounds with two operators. Only occasionally do we use it all up, on Wednesday we came home with about 150 litres still left.

For our commercial work we use between 500 litres and 850 litres per day for two operators. The question was what tanks would you go for if you started again. My answer was based on our exact current usage.

used to have tucker 700 ltr for 2 now have 400 ltr for 2 run out at 3 ish but back to unit refill only takes 3 mins quick transfer pumps and water thats already produced from static system.

Why ? because the rest of the space in the vehicle carrys the carpet/upholstery/ patio/decking equipment

dont want to be over payload now do we  ;)

Single operator domestic 6hr days 500l  used.

That's why i put a 650 tank in last week. With 400l I was running low at lunch time and had to call back.

I could still manage with the 400l but it was taking a 15min plus traveling time bite out of my day. So the £200 investment is saving me one hour and a quarter a week (without traveling time).
one and a quarter times thirty pounds per hour equals a monetary benefit of thiry seven pounds per week.My entire investment is therefore recouped in five weeks, with ongoing benefits.

1000 ltr for a 2 man team.

I have an 800 ltr tank which is fine when I am on my own.

My mate helps me 2 days a week but we use his water from his van which is 400 ltrs as well as my 800ltr. Domestic only with 100mtr microbore hose.Flow rate about 2 ltrs a min, But we fly through a lot of work and work for 81/2 hrs in a day weather permiting.

Domestic 600l usually adequte.

Commercial 900l.

If you fill from static, as I do, you are not likely to fill tank right up anyway. I have 600l tank in dispatch but probably cant get more than 550l in.
