Im thinking of getting a smaller van as well as my Expert and am considering one of these, they only came out this month:

They are the Citroen Nemo, Peugeot Bipper and Fiat Fiorino. They have a 600kg payload and 2.5 ( 2.8 with the passangers seat down! ) cubic meter load space. It has over 1m between the wheel arches! The Diesel does 64mpg, it also has a sliding door. I would need a 400ltr tank in it.
Basically I would just apreciate anybodies experinces with them or opinions, Luke
-
No but did you see my post on the new berlingo? It's quite expensive but a stunning 400/500ltr wfp van!
Tony
-
i think you would be getting close to your payload with a 400 ltr tank! :o also probably need it upright as floor space is not big.
-
The Payload is exactly 610kg Im sure it would be fine with a 400ltr tank. I have only started to do research on a smaller van so I havent made up my mind yet, but the 64mpg is quite appealing, Luke
-
the new berlingo has a much bigger payload 850 kg i think

could you uprate the suspension to make the payload higher ?

Here the new Berlingo, its nice too. Whats the mpg? I dont actually need alot of water in it, only 400ltr, so either would probably be fine, Luke
-
new berlingo is lovely

i put heavier shocks in my old 306 it was the worst think id ever done every bump i went over was far to hard and kept have to replace bushes and ball joints from then on i wasnt even carrying water then
-
i have the old berlingo now with side door and steel bulkhead not as long as the expert poles have to go on the roof in pipe carriers

If you want to keep your options open reference hot allow another 70kg. (Don't forget weight of reel, diesel and passenger).
A 400l has a 1010*1250 footprint. The reel can be mounted and fixed on top of the tank and fed exclusively from the side door. This is a very good working height for a big lad.
Whichever van you get this is a very clever idea because two vans can do more work than one. If you are anything like me you could it out with pump reel and varistream from what you have lying about.
You can also try other ideas and soon have a favourite van which will tell you which ideas are best.

passenger and fuel is already included on the payload
-
Passenger and fuel are not normally counted in payload. From my experience full 400l tank in a 610 kg payload van will take you over the limit.
This is based on mine and a friends vans being checked on a weighbridge.
-
Been looking at this van today luke & it realy is tiny.
Tony
-
Yeah I know that its tiny. But it has a suprising payload and 2.5 cubic meters loading with over 1m between the arches.....very impressive. I would be using it for a lone operator, Luke
-
Strangely the one in the top picture called Nemo isn't the orange one...

It was lacking the white strip as well.

New pug partner with a bit of extra spec is 14.5k incl vat, there bringing a LWB version out later in the year and the engine sizes are 75bhp or 90bhp.

Hey you guys im after a van if any of you know of a cheap one going please tell me.
My dad is Jeff who is also on this forum and hes giving me his business so he can stay home and look after my mum who has MS the thing is I dont want his trailer on my car so am looking for a first van to help me on my way cant afford anything new but am interested in an EXPERT, PARTNER, OR BERLINGO???has to be long enough inside for my wfp system and tank if anyone can help through this forum please do as I desperately need all advice can get.
Many thanks
Michelle ???

Michelle, I would really recommend the Expert/Dispatch/Scudo over the Partner/Berlingo/Kangoos. They are superior vans, they have bigger pay loads and they NEVER rust. Maybe they dont look as nice ( in my opnion they look nicer but some dont agree ). I have a 2.0 ltr HDI Peugeot Expert. Luke
-
Berlingo is a very tight fit, I agree with Luke, next van will be something along those lines.

Many thanks for that advice Luke I am beginning to see what you mean as seem to notice vans more around on my travels and pay more attention to what they are and the look.
Berlingo is definately too small in my opinion unless its the new style but there out of my price range.
I love the Expert vans and think/hope thats what I will get all depending again on price.
What kind of price did you pay for your Expert? ;D ;D

Jeff I have just read above about your wife having ms, sorry to hear that mate :( But the reason I have mentioned it is that I have just read about a man in my local paper who suffers from ms, and has been on a special trial for a drug called Aimspro, which has been miraculous for him, he has improved so much that he is now buying a yaught and is planning on sailing around the world or something!!! Have you heard about this drug?
-
Ive got the renault kangoo, it's every thing any tradesman should need. :)
-
Payload is as it says
it means the weight you can carry that is being paid for ie a paying load
the fuel load and even an average weight of a driver is already accounted for
as for how many litres you could carry remembering the weight of the tank too, but a rough rule of thumb is every litre of water weighs a kilo
we have just leased two new Nemos get them in four weeks at £190 each per month which includes road tax and maintenance
