As the title says really, just wondering if any one has gone from 1/2 inch to minibore and how much difference it made to the flow rate.

I did it & it hasn't made any difference realy. Infact shortly after the change my 3.5 year old 75psi shurflo packed in so went for new 100psi one with varistream & i can't go past setting 1 (0 to 9) or there is just too much flow!
I have 80m of 8mm minibore & use 2mm pencil jets.

Do you reckon the pump packed in because of the new thinner hose or just old age?
Just ordered 2 lots of 100m minibore, have 100 psi flojet pumps that are a pain to get to to service so hoping they'll be okay.

The minibore hoses finally came today, so I thought I'd take some pictures to show the difference. The minibore went on untidy so it doesn't look as small as it should do.
-
Where did you get that blue minibore from then.
-
A couple more pics. The two water containers show the difference in flow between the 1/2 inch and minibore hose. I started filling them at same time and when the 1/2 inch one was filled the minibore was only about 2/3. The hose feels so much easier though.

The blue one is 1/2 inch not minibore. Came fitted from water-fed pole limited.

I like the reels - are they hannay?
where can you buy them and how much?
-
They came fitted with the system aswell so I don't know where to get them but from memory I think the price was around 230. They are hannay, well spotted.

sorry was that 230 each + vat?
-
No that was total. Bonzer on the forum got one from a supplier somewhere mine just came fitted with the system. They are good though.
