Title: Beading glass, pain in the backside.
Post by: [GQC] Tim on June 04, 2008, 11:46:58 pm
I'm amazed how bad some of my rounds windows are, they bead so badly, the moment the water hits the glass, it's gone. Some are strange, they turn into thousands of tiny small beads, like mist.

Even if I turn up the flow to 2lpm it's still difficult to rinse on these windows, they are basically the only windows that are prone to spotting. Fourth day wfp, first cleans, and I get them really nicely clean, but you need to spend a lot of time rinsing. It's easy to miss a bit when rinsing, and that's where the problem lies I think.

Curtain effect is so nice on some windows, if you look at it too hard you get dizzy haha.

Any tips on beading windows? Maybe some Isopropyl alcohol?

Find your ideal method and speed and most importantly have confidence in your ability to leave good results or learn the art of talking your customers through complaints and excuses.

Scrub and rinse, scrub and rinse.
Remember - if you touch it, clean it.

Oh, and rinse!

Then move on.

If you've scrubbed and rinsed it doesn't matter weather they sheet or bead (like a bag of frenzied snakes being dropped down the window), the water will run clean so no spots.

Okay cool, I'll keep that in mind, I'm using the brush to guide the water off the windows, seems to be working. :)

what i tend to do on glass that beeads is to rince in sections, scrub the whole window then get a flow at the top and brush down the lenght of the window in one stroke all the way along, then rinse down in small sections instead of going from one side to the other, i find this gives a better amount of water flowing down the glass.
this works for me

I've never had a problem with beading glass.
I have done with sheeting windows a few times though.

They can bead all they like for all I care.
