Just spotted this advert on youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5S20xpvHco (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5S20xpvHco)
Called the ladder limpet, quite a good idea; I've never seen one like this before.
Found them for sale here at £50 www.laddatec.com/shop.htm (http://www.laddatec.com/shop.htm)
What do you think?

I am not either :'(

Here they are in operation when I used to use ladders
-
:-\ sorry I cant see how the bottom set help at all!
Top set on lower Roof yes will stop bending... I wouldn't use it though because I would feel it would take the weight and maybe undo the real strength at bottom IMO ::)

Yeah I don't think the top set would be advantageous, but the bottom ones increase the grip at the bottom substantially I would think!

;) OK maybe!
Thinking about it it does create a triangle must be stronger...ok I agree! 8)

Back to ladders after all then>?
I don't tink so.

The bottom is the place they should be, on this particular Job, I had to keep the ladder off the lower guttering to prevent damage and slip, it also stops any flex in the ladders.
When both sets of limpets were fitted I could easily run up and down the ladder with no bounce no flex and most of all no movement.
The manufacturer and the inventor thought it was an excellent Idea and I would highly recommend them to anyone who still uses ladders

8) cool 8)

I would have extended the ladders to rest on the gutters , and cleaned the windows ! Am I missing something ?
-
No wonder you are skint ::)

Then what's going to stop your ladder from slipping or sliding along the guttering? What about damage to the guttering? If you notice there is also a stand off fitted to the top of the ladder.
If your a member of the Training Academy we can give you a code for a 10% discount on them.

I love you , but you are not going to earn money doing that !

I earned plenty of money up those ladders, but I earn even more now I don't use ladders at all.
-
Sorry , I meant I would have extended ladders to reach at least over the top of gutters ! If I I had all the those ladder stays , I would have priced for a big price !
-
I didn mean to say you were skint ! Was a saying !

I will get my coat !

I tried to work like that in the beginning. It often meant that the window was out of reach - especially near the bottom. Then I would put one foot out onto the tiles to allow me to reach but that didn't feel so safe. I ended up walking up the tiles but that can be dodgy when they are wet and/or mossy. Those sort of windows definitely better by WFP IMO.

The ladder step is better IMO

Spot on Shiner, they are so easy now I'm wfp, I used to have to lay the ladder onto the tiles and get the boss to foot the ladder, that was the safest way to do this type of window, I did them on my own a couple of times and I had to walk on the roof holding onto the window ledge, Crazy or what but we all did/do it.

I will get my coat !
quickly please jonah :D

Making ladders safer.......................leave them at home ;D

I've seen these being used and they look good. However, it was by a painter who was at the window for ages so worth all the set up time and he can't paint with a pole. (No don't tell me he can ;D ;D) Now with wfp, there is not the need for window cleaners to put ladders in places that need these sort of devices.

They take seconds to attach and detach
