Just one phrase there that I don't quite comprehend:

Also stick to the speed limit .

Have a day off saves fuel :D.

sticking to 56mph is meant to be the best speed for low fuel consumption.
I just get there and get the job done fuel is a by-product that I hate but we all have to use it.

I'm trying to stop collecting and leaving sae instead. Trouble is my customers now see that as an opportunity not to pay at all. I am finding some very dishonest and uncaring people are about at the moment.

Support any fuel protesters rallies by joining the demonstrations.
United we stand, divided we fall.
If enough people protest, often enough, the government will finally wake up to this national problem of being the most taxed country in Europe for petrol and finally do something to help UK businesses before they go into receivership to be replaced by yet more foreign workers stepping in to replace UK jobs.

Say you do 500 miles per week at 30 mpg. If your fuel is now £6 per gallon as opposed to £5.50 (1.32 vs 1.21p per litre and it is that here) it's costing you an extra £8 or £9 per week. Pass that rise on to your customers. You only need to raise 10 custies £1 to cover it. We all have some long standing underpriced custies...or is t only me 8). Adapt the figures to your own mileage/fuel cost.

If everyone shared your views, we'd all be worse off. Sometimes you have to stand up for what you believe in whatever the outcome IMO.

Will you still be passing on the extra petrol costs when it's £1.60 a litre to your customers? Genuine answers please. Customers are in the same predicament with extra prices to pay on petrol, fuel, food. There's only so much you can pass on, then you have to start absorbing the dent in your profits yourself unless you want to work part time.

At the rate petrol is rising £1.60 will be just about Xmas time this year.

Keep your tyres pumped up to the highest recommended pressure (especially if carrying water.) = less rolling resistance.

Hang on to the higher gears but without labouring the engine.

Ease up to traffic lights and avoid stopping completely where you safely can.

Brake/accelerate gently.

Plan your day/route.

Reverse into your drive when your engine is warm so that when it is cold you can drive straight out quickly.

Only put in about 25/30 litres fuel so you are not carrying extra weight.

Chuck rubbish out for the same reason.

Non wfp users - take off roof rack/ladders when not in use - lowers wind resistance.

Use aircon sparingly.
