Good evening All !
How do the clamps work please ?Is there an allan key to tighten ?
im familiar with the face lift clamps they look simular are they ?
-
Bit more like cycle saddle clamp levers
-
Effective and strong ? Which brush do u use sir ? And do u have the funny neck on it ?
-
Brush ? any one of four different ones- generally cheapo supermarket jobbies.
A funny neck is important and all the better if it can be made to swivel into different angles.
Keep asking the questions, also put words into the search facility ( see above)
-
Spraying WD40 on the cams makes it easy to use the clamps when new.
-
I really love the SL-X clamps actually, their great to use, Luke
-
Thanks mate ,so its a good move in purchasing a SL-X . and a can of WD40
-
They are okay, you have to get used to them bigtime, still after using it for a while, yea they are fine for the job, but I feel the x-tel clamps are nicer.
In everything else it's the best pole you can possibly buy.
-
Hi Luke ! ive heard a few rumors but how much is the SLX ? inc VAT ?
-
around £400 incl vat:

thanks rupertthehair !
Erm u dont no what the little cut outs below the clamps are do u ? on the SLX
-
Erm u dont no what the little cut outs below the clamps are do u ? on the SLX
are you going to d.i.y blue peter style and make one ? ;D ;D ;D ;D
the cut outs are exactly that , cut outs for i guess to allow the closing of the clamps without putting too much stress on the pole, i may be wrong ??? been using mine for 4 weeks now and clamps are no bother to get used to although the paint is comming of 2 of them where they rub , but thats nowt
-
When these clamps fail, is the answer to put heat shrink on the poles to widen their circumferences?
-
Ah cheers lee . so there is no allan keys to tighten the clamps then mate
-
You get an alan key with it.
-
?? Do the clamps need to be tightened all the time sir ?
-
You get the clamp to where you want it ie a firmish grip but not overtight, once you`ve done this add a blob and i mean a blob only of loctite glue to the thread and this will keep it in place.Try not to get any glue on the clamp part of the pole,1 drip of glue on the thread is all you need it will be useable in an hour but left overnight is better.
-
Oh Sounds a bit tricky sir ., why cant u buy them ready to use ?
-
If you buy 1 now it will be done already.
-
Erm u dont no what the little cut outs below the clamps are do u ? on the SLX
those "slits" are to allow the movement of the pole to grip and clamp onto the section beneath it. All SL-X poles sold now come ready with more loctite than the first batch.
The clamps are the best Ive ever used. Unlike any other clamps Ive used before they dont need tightening continually, unlike cxtels and alike, Luke
-
sounds like a good pole.
do you know why only 4 sections and doesnt go to say 35 foot.or can sections be added.
Mr askew have you been wcleaning long .
