Has anybody ever worked abroad cleaning windows?
It would be interesting to find out if there is a market doing builders cleans on the new build houses in spain or maybe a round on an estate full of expats.
At a guess id say it was all sewn up a long time ago ??? ???

Trouble is, with the exception of a few European countries like Germany and Holland plus a few others all the other countries dont have a big need for Window Cleaners. It isnt in their culture to have a Window Cleaner and many houses in Southern France, Spain, Italy etc have shutters over them.
Although saying this there still is a market for WC'ers. Karlosdaze ( forum member ) does WC'ing in Spain. So its possible to make money, and plenty of it but there is probably less potential especially for new comers, Luke

Agreed

I have just been in Italy and never saw one window cleaner and as Luke has already pointed out they all have shutters over them and balconies so making wfp a nightmare and ladder work dangerous
And with shutters being over the windows and all round better weather they just dont get dirty
I did consider it myself but having been there its just not viable in my opinion unless you can pick up lots of commercial work

i lived in france for 3 years, tried all kinds of work including window cleaning, advertised on a brit forum didnt get anything. all i got back was that all windows open inwards so they can do them.

I met a window cleaner in feurteventura and he seemed to be doing ok, he said there was a few others and all got along with each other.
He was a JW got sent over to start a new kingdom hall about 6 years ago and has been window cleaning there ever since

there are some interesting topics about this on the cleaning pros website.

I went there about 8 years ago for a holiday.....I would happily sell my granny for the chance to live on that island full time :)
....cleaning windows and making money and living there, maybe JW's are the chosen ones!! ;D

working in cyprus, window cleaning for a year and a bit seems to be plenty of work to go round, wont use wfp due to water probs but with all the dust trad is the way to go i think, shutters and fly screens are a welcome addition to the income. all seem to want an inside and out clean so with the size of the villas etc not to much traveling to do in the day, max i will do is 3 a day inside/out average 20 windows per. so 120 windows a day at present 30 degrees plus in the shade but its the place to be a window cleaner no rain to stop you for the next 5/6 months.

An old friend of mine who was window cleaning at the time, met and married an Italian girl. He moved over there and set up a round. Apparently he did well, drove around in a Beetle, somewhere near Milan.
