Title: late fees
Post by: LWC on June 01, 2008, 05:50:51 pm
i said a while ago about adding a late fee, well all the cheques have been flying through the door now so im happy, but one repeat late payer did it the other day, small houe, been doing it for £5 since i started, takes like a minute, i charged them £10 for 2 cleans plus the late fee(£2.50) and they soon paid up!! £12.50. £2.50 for not doing alot other than waiting for my money...cant wait till someone else does it!

nope, but when you owed 100's and 100's of pounds a month and your bills are coming out and taking you into your overdraft and getting charged for it for something that isnt my fault other than the fact that they cnt be bothered just to stick it in post box, its all written out, stamped everything!

oh yeh i know ;)

and i dont go into my overdraft any more lol, but when your waiting for payments and big bills come through what do ya do!

collecting isnt a option for me, i live like 30 mins from most of my work so if i travelled out it would be a waste of time is they were out...beside like i said, cheques are flying through now...and im £2.50 better off lol

Nothing wrong with charging a late fee at all, you run a business (no balls of steel just the right out lok on business) other that dont do it fair play on you for being a charity ( I am not) and i do not promote it.

Good on you Matt  ;D. advise taken and learnt there m8

Charging late fees is not for me i have no plans to do it either
But fair play if you feel you have to do it for your business and it helps you to move it on then thats great

If people say or phone and say they cant pay till a certain day I do not charge them as this will be an arrangement, forgetting to send it they are billed as I finf that invery *friendly* personing as they would not do it to say there bank as they will be charged for forgetting, same as if they forget to pay another bill.
