After shopping around and getting a myriad of quotes I just thought I'd share what I found to be a really good deal.
The policy for public liability & all risk covers carpet & Upholstery cleaning and domestic cleaning for domestic and commercial work.
I was recommended this one from a guy I met at the Carpex show in Coventry who i chatted to at the NCCA stand.
The policy is with HSBC tradesman insurance - The total cost was £88. that was with the 1 Million, you can upgrade for extra if you think it's worth it.
If you look on the HSBC website like I did and search tradesman insurance you will struggle to find a policy that includes 'All risk'.
I eventually picked up the phone and rang the helpline.
Very good service, it took about 20 minutes to complete over the phone, it even has direct debit with no interest over 10 months.

Yes I am with them, seem cheap and cover most risks

I have been with hsbc for 12 months now, i upgraded to £2m liability with the all risks cover included think i pay around £90 a year.

I’m with HSBC (aka Zurich) also added hard floor cleaning again all risks (though miss spelt ard) at no extra charge, see Direct line are offering tradesman insurance cutting out the middle man. ;)

Hi there,
After reading about tradesman insurance cover with HSBC and because mine is due at the end of this month I gave them a call.
The outcome is that I have got the same coverage from them for £94.00 which was going to cost me £268.00 from the company that I have used for 28 years.
The guy to talk to at HSBC is called Oliver Smith on 01202 455555.
Whilst we are talking about insurance does anyone know where I might do a saving on my van and truckmount. My current insurance policy is with McGregor Lloyd Ltd / Nig and cost last year was £384.07.

Is this too good to be true. Mine is £500 odd but that covers rugs off site and transport of them, £5m cover, Treatments risks.
For £90 Id cancel mine and move to them.

Let me say mine is for only for 2m cover which is ok for me, but if you want extra coverage I am sure it would not by anything like you are paying at the moment.
I understand that you can also pay the premium over 12 months if you want at no extra cost what so ever.

Van insurance mines up at the end of the month without TM what cover have you with McGegor.

My van insurance including the truckmount currently costs £384.07 which runs out mid July.Up to now I have not got the renewal cost for next year, but I assume that is will be going up.
If I could make a saving on the van & truckmount as I have with the tradesman insurance of ( £174 ) it would be great.

I may be going down the route of contract hiring a new van and my insurance broker has said that not many companies are prepared to insure contract hire vans and the premium will go up from 300 to £550 :o.
any of you guys contact hire and know of other insurers that are cheaper or is this the norm?

Be careful with insurance and make sure you know: what your covered for and your excess ie direct line will only cover tools upto £1500!! online anyway, not much use to anyone with a portable that will cost £2000 alone to replace and thats without all the other gear we carry, the online quote off direct line with 2mil pl cover about £60 but add tools cover...£128! its doubled, now i remember why mine is £400!!
