Title: Palace of Westminster
Post by: strakercleaning on January 18, 2005, 07:28:03 pm
Finally collecting my security pass to carry out carpet/upholstery cleaning in the big house with the clock.
Does anyone here have experience of working there or a similar place, any pitfalls that i should be made aware of?

We have done similar jobs, be courtious, safe, use signs and even ramps indoors if necessary, be uniformed and watch out for expensive low level woodwork and furniture not being damaged.
If using electricity be sure to use an rcb, and always keep lidson chemicals etc.

Chris, Have done work in said building and whitehall many times before (not Cleaning though).
Allow plenty of time to get through security checks, even just taking a car in can take time, also it is a big building, so take a map, its easy to get lost. Be prepared to be asked "what are you doing" theres lots of people who think they are in charge about.
