Title: Diesel on Carpet
Post by: Joe H on May 28, 2008, 09:30:06 am
Got a call yesterday from the local BMW dealer, office in the PDI dept - someone had spilt diesel fuel right in the middle.
They had used upholstery cleaner which cleaned the area but it showed up against rest of the carpet and of course it stank of diesel.
Not carpet tiles but carpet tile like.

I used Solutions Heavy Duty on main area and M-Power reat of office (24'x10') as a pre spray, then rinsed with weak liquid Formula 90 in the tank.

Looked ok as I left at 5.30pm but the smell still lingering.

Got the call this morning - smell still strong (not a lot of natural ventilation) but "shadow" on rest of carpet.

Any ideas of how I can help them?

Nemesis Odour Neutraliser or solubac if you can still get it

Hi Joe

Firstly I would rub with white spirit and leave for 15 mins

Then I would use Prochem Crystal Green with Clensan added.

I would also carry out cleaning at 80 C and spray afterwards with Clensan.

Cheers

Doug
