Hi guys, advice needed and would be very grateful I'm about to purchase a shurflow backpack for conservatary roofs with clear glass, the thing is, is there any thing I could connect to the backpack to make it instantly pure water, and at what extra cost would this probably be ? thanks guys !!!! :)

You could connect a DI tank to a tap, and then straight to a hose reel which is attached to your pole and brush, no need for a backpack.

you could strap a small di unit to the back of the backpack for around £40 complete
-
Hi peter , I wouldnt beable to do that as lots of my custies dont have outside taps! >:( xline do you store these small units? Thanks Robert :)

The backpack is heavy enough without strapping extra things on it. And besides if he needs pure water instantly then it is as well going straight from the tap. If he is going to be using a backpack then it would be better to use RO to purify the water at home, and take it with him in containers.

Well I was going to put my back pack on a trolley peter. But thanks any way.

the only reason i said this peter is i read barrys past posts that stated he wanted to stay away from trailing hoses.

-
Hi xline, how can I find out my tap tds . Thanks Robert. :)

either by purchasing a tds metre or if you know a local window cleaner with a wfp system they would be able to help. where are you based?

Collect rain water in a water butt and use that, the TDS is mostly below 10ppm.
If any custy's have an out side tap wash the roof with tap water first and then swill with your rainwater.

You beat me to it Jeff :P :D
Actually that is a VERY good suggestion. Up to 10 (ish) TDS should do just fine for clear glass Con roofs. No need for DI or anything and best of all its free. Barry your water around Grantham is very hard so you will go through resin very quickly.
Pop some tap water into a few containers and use that to get rid of the rubbish off the roof first then empty your backpack and fill it with rainwater to do the final rinse.
Con roofs are good earners so getting a water butt and setting it up (£50 ish) will be well worth it.
P.S. Con roofs are always best done in the rain anyway. The rain has done most of the hard work for you :)

Andrew

I think you need to read those specials again because £295 is for the hxtel 27 to 32 ft pole by its self not including a backpack.
