hi guys, could anyone tell me if its possible to put a remote on/off switch on a varistream ? and how is it wired up?  thanks in advance.

The trouble with remote contols is the distance you are governed by, also remote controls are affected not only by the weather but buildings tree's etc power supplies  and the list can go on.

One great remote control you can fit to operate your varistream is a TAP stick one on the end of your hose turn the tap on and off and this will switch your varistream on and off.
