It's started the parts are back from the blasters, decide on sparkle silver, just for fun.
I'm going to run a stopwatch to see how long it takes to rebuild it totally
-
why do you need rebuild/
-
Thanks for the job you sent me on Friday Paul - much appreciated! Unfortunately I could not do it as I was stowed under and by the sounds of it she wanted someone to come out straight away. John

This was the first prowler ever into the uk 5 years ago and was looking a bit tired and worn
( we've ragged it rotten to see what broke) I was going to put it on ebay but had the blower rebuilt by roots and did the engine/pump myself so for the little extra have had the frame blasted and coated and will use it a a spare machine in the unit and for the vans.
from a previous post some wanted to see how it went back together
-
Hi paul, was going to ask you if your prowler gives you all the power that you need compared to that of a t mount?I do Like the workings of the prowler ie no waste to take away and portable if you wanted it off your van.I havent moved up from the portable as yet.. cheers clinton
Yes Paul i would be intrested to ?
-
No Ade not got it yet but will be soon, cant wait to be honest my back is broken with that damn Extracta Excel!
-
short answer yes
long answer
I bought the first prowler which was a 12hp kohler over 5 years ago to back up my less than a year old ACE 310 machine as it just wasn't reliable
I used to put it in the back of the LWB sprinter I had so I could "dual wand" using two machines of one tank of water. Or just as a back up on long travel jobs
After 2 months I took out the 310 and put the prowler in full time, sold the 310 and bought another prowler, someone once said "it's a honda pressure washer with heat and a suck, a fair description as they are simple to use and work on have very few thing that go wrong, My 10 year old honda pressure washer is still doing the do.
Any one with a little mechanical knowledge could sort any problems, and if you haven't got the skills, take it to a lawn mower or pressure washer workshop as they will recognize everything.
Yes it has a small engine and a small blower but the blower is fettled somehow to spin very fast and generates a lot of heat that vaporizes the water to steam, Because there is no waste tank the vac is very good and the 2000psi pump is more than some of the bigger machine have.
If you want a comparison It's a entry level skoda fabia/ renault twingo / smart car, there bigger cars out there that do the job, faster, smoother, hotter, harder, longer, flashier, sexier and many more things ending in er. But personally I like the it gets job done.
It' not the greatest looker " but you don't look at the mantelpiece when your stoking the fire"

depend what I'm doing a few pounds a day, I would think that-most other TM owners would agree the cost of fuel is minimal compared to what it earns.
If cost of fuel is everything get a lpg kit , you can get them for £145 on ebay and still run on petrol when you want. Dont know what the retailers say about that though?
-
My P/W which is fitted with a gx390 honda engine ( same as a prowler) will run on full revs for 2 hrs and it a holds 5 lts. so if the prowlers the same it'll cost about £2.30 an hour to run.
my P/W earns £100 per 1 hr running time, so it cost 2.3% of the job price, I don't know how i afford it ;D ;D

Hi Paul,i'm really starting to like the sound of the prowler,no w/tank,and don't have to fit a petrol tank to my diesel renualt trafic.
Was talking to a bloke in western Australia, who has one,and does department stores, they have to bring the machine inside, but there not allowed to use petrol,so they use lpg,the supplier fitted it for them, says theres no fumes and the machine works well, even at 200ft!,can't get better than that.
-
no really they way forward, as it at the limit for easy moving.
I'd say it was just another option, part TM part Portable,( not that much portable just a bit)
-
Any progress on your prowler Paul?
-
been busy but jet washed and painted the fittings, woo! blower coming back next week from rebuild so going to get my finger out then.
