Opinions please,

the home page has too much small writing, on the domestic page I'd move the writing over to the left and make the pictures bigger, showing containers of chemspecs stainshield meens nothing to a customers and does'nt show the benifit of stainshield
but i still like it ;)

Yeah the pics aren't big enough to focus on, also where you are advertising upholstery cleaning there is a picture of a carpet and where you advertise stain removal a plain clean carpet. But other than that looks great.

I was limited to pictures to put on i have just placed these pictures till i get some more on the system,
Thanks for the input points taken on board
Mike had no pictures of Prochems stainguard so had to use chemspecs ;)

On domestic page "Stain & Oddur removal " twice.
Otherwise looks ok.
-
You might want to change the word oddur to odour on the domestic page. Otherwise plenty of info to what tasks you carry out.

Dave,
Have you viewed the site at various screen resolutions? At higher resolutions the home page looks blank on the right (25%).
Other than that the first thing that strikes is the number of times the word "cleaning is used:
Bin Cleaning, Carpet Cleaning, Ceiling Cleaning, Chandelier Cleaning, Cooker Cleaning, Driveway Cleaning, Dust Removal, Exterior Cleaning, Hood Cleaning, Kitchen Cleaning, Mattress Cleaning, Microwave Cleaning, Oven Cleaning, Patio Cleaning, Paving Cleaning, Range Cleaning, Roof Cleaning, Rug Cleaning, Spring Cleaning, Upholstery Cleaning
Perhaps "Cleaning of; Wheely bins, carpets, ceilings,........................" would scan better and not give the impression that you are simply using words to pad out the list to appear that you are offering more than you actually do. Less words in a larger font would fill the space better.
(It's easier to be a critic than a creater ;) sorry if this sounds harsh)
-
Doesnt sound harsh, all comments will be taken on board and used to improve the website
many thanks Dave
-
Dave,
I agree with the chaps that there is info overload on the front page.
It's a bit like long posts, part of you feels that , is it worth bothering reading!
Has this been done to use the word cleaning as many times as poss to boost search engine ratings?
Otherwise it loads well and looks good.
Cheers,
Doug

I'm no expert but theres too much info and not enough reasons to use your business instead of someone else. Also its too cramed. What about having a page for each cleaning type ie, carpets, floors, upholstery, industrial, high level, windows etc.
How do you cover Ireland? I'm in Belfast. Just wondering why some of the English cleaning compaines send over a team of men to clean carpets when theres cleaners over here who could service the contracts better IMO.

Dave,
Is that your House in Photo.
You are trying to give the impression that you are a Dynamic National Company.
Why not take a photo of your van if you must have it on The Web Site outside a small Office Block where your staff could be working.
Most of us work from Home. but I often think this could be a negative when dealing with bussiness.
Also the question arises do you live in the right street, village etc.
-
Hi Dave,
Below is copied from the 'Domestic' page on your site.
Domestic Carpet Cleaning
Using the latest high powered TruckMounted Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning machines in the world today, ADL's Vans are fully equipped to clean the most soiled of carpets and upholstery to the highest of standards.
Truckmounted Carpet Cleaning
Whether it be a spill or stain, that yearly hygienic clean, ADL use the latest high tech equipment to ensure that you get that professional result first time every time.
Personally, I would get rid of the second para' as essentially they say the same thing, IMO.
Also, being picky I know, but one or two grammatical errors (speacialist) to quote one. I think you need to get the spelling spot on, especially for Commercial customers.
Regards.

Hi nice site but unfortunately a lot of spelling errors
-
Changed a lot but not finished yet, Opinions?????
regards Dave ADL
-
As a couple of others have said, the spelling and grammar is very poor. The layout needs some work and the text is somewhat repetative.
Just to pick up on the picture of the van. It would look better parked outside a large house (electric gates, long drive etc.) if you want to attract domestic work.
Park the van in front of a plush office block to appeal to commercial.
It's a start but in my opinion needs many more hours spent on it to make it pull in quality work.
Good luck with it.

Dave,
Vastly improved.
It no longer looks lop-sided at high resolution, the Home page looks altogether 'cleaner' without the 1000 "cleaning"s and there is a flow to the site.
Well worth the effort.
-
Very nice Dave, now I know what Im up against Ill have to rethink mine. ;D
Dave.

hi mate,
those pics look familiar, IS THAT JUST to HAUNT the rest of your life.
if you wanted you could email those pics, and a few internal shots would be good.

Dave,
Looks much sharper.
Is this your first site or have you been going a while?
How do you rank on search engines?
Cheers,
Doug
-
Rank in the first page lancashire area, not my first site have changed and changed but its always the same when you are just doing something your way and never look at the broarder picture, as they say a few heads are better than one, i still have a few changes to make yet, thanks for the input, gratefully appreciated (ps always wandered what the spell checker was for) ;)

Hi Dave,
the only thing I noticed with your website was you advertise domestic cleaning but dont mention general house cleaning in your team of specialists. this may suggest you dont do general house cleaning to dummies like me!
anyway, the real reason Im replying is I need advice on how to create my own website without much cost and without going through other companies to rip me off--- can u help?
ps
not done this before as I am a bored and broke nurse with spare time on my hands and need to earn extra cash (like everyone), I do have an industrial carpet cleaning machine and some products though ::)
-
Dave,
Had a quick look at your website. I think it it is impressive but would benefit from a good proof read. e.g. on home page " builders clean" is repeated twice. The question is, though, do you get increased business from your website?
My own website (much smaller) did not appear to generate any business, so I have taken it off to redo and improve.
Has anyone got a really successful website?
Regards Alan

Its not a case of working or not working, it doesnt matter if i dont get any work as a direct result of the site, what does matter is the fact that when i go to meetings with a lot of new prospective clients and even my exsisting ones it is used as a presentation aid,
How many times have you been talking to your clients or even people that you know and have been talking about other jobs that you have done and the customer replies, 'i didnt know that you did that'
or 'i had that done a while ago' 'if i had known that you did that also i could have used you'
Well the fact is that my customers know from day one what we do and as two very big custmers call us their one stop cleaning shop it obviously has an impact, we have worked nationwide for 2 customers in the last 2 months and have earned in excess of 30k from them, the ironic thing is both of these customers were originally carpet cleaning customers,
You never know who you are talking to, or what the man in a pub does for a living, he could be the next Richard Branston.
The key to getting new business and marketing is only the same as what a very experienced CC does when he gets a stain, he combines a bit of this and a bit of that, but more importantly he uses whatever tool he has to its full potential, the biggest tool of any salesmen in the world is his mouth and more importantly its free, so for all the people who keep asking the same old question
' how do i get new business'
What works for one seldom works for others, thats why we all advertise differently design leaflets and advertising differently, (apart for the JP Brigade and the only reason i havnt gone down this route is that i havnt seen any millionaire ccs using this teqnique ;)
You must simply engage your brain, have a long term plan, dont expect miricals in the first year or two, work hard and research you market properly, that is the only way your going to suceed.
Here endeth the lesson 8)

Think Yell.com did this website ::)
Andy
PS if not same template?
-
Hi Dave
I think the site looks great. The images on the front page create a professional first impression which is what it's all about.

Mike
