Hello to all
Looking for advice on making a top flyer.
Any advice from you guys who have tried and tested a variety of flyers on what worked best for you.
For example:
A4 3 fold - with lots of information or A5 - A6 short and sweet
1 or 2 sided print
Include photos or just plain text
Is it better to include some prices on the flyer (dicounted) or put a money off voucher on the flyer
Leave any dicount offer s limited to a set time or leave it open ended
If using money off voucher is it best shown in £££££ or %%%%
Do you get better response to seemingly Bigger discounts offered ~ say 50% off opposed to 20%
Any advice much appreciated

Most printers do good deals on 2 sided prints so do that, put your website on it as much more info for the custy there.
A6 250gsm are great for posting, no crumpling.
Use pics as you can get good full colour prints.
Retired persons discount is good (no kids so usually not to dirty, maybe heavier furniture though)
Expire date on offers so it doesnt bite you in the ### next year!
Make the design stand out, something the custy will put to one side or pin up.
Dont put prices on as you want custys to call you, then you can be the salesman.
Ask people what they think of your design and just do 5000, tweak it if needs be for the next lot..

I wouldn't put any prices unless you are targeting low end customers, outline the benefits of using you rather than prices. We use a really nice tri fold full colour, generates a healthy amount of high end calls.

Postcard leaflets work well for me expensive but people tend to keep them.

I don't put my prices on my leaflets, purely because I bought 10,000 and have delivered hardly any of them, since getting them I have also put my prices up by a fair bit!!!
Also I can pick up on vibes with customers regarding price, Some you just seem to know you can add a few quid and get away with it ;D
I use postcard sized flyers, this way I can put the same leaflet in post office windows etc.

no vat, look into it.

use a photo of yourself.
put your address on it.
give a retired person discount.
if giving a discount put the amount in £s not % people know what '£10 off' means..... they pay £10 less. 10% means nothing.
as for prices this is a tricky one, it depends on how much you charge, if you charge £20 for a living room & £40 for a suite then put your prices on. The other side of the coin is if you charge really high prices then don't. So what you need to know is how high can you go before the price stops people calling.
don't forget, a slightly higher price on your leaflet will stop the idiots who think it cost peanuts to have their suite cleaned from calling.

It depends on what you look like as to whether you should have your picture on your leaflet.If you look like a bit of a bruiser it can sometimes put people off making the initial call.

Am thinking of restarting up again after a few years out ?......bad time to start of what with the cost of fuel ....

no, because I've knocked up my prices quite a bit.
if I charged £35-£45 for a L/R and under £85 for a suite I would.
fuel cost an extra £2 a day, not a lot ;)
