Does anyone know of a source for these? I need one to use for mattress sanitising.
Many Thanks

Dave,
UV is peddled for this purpose but:
Is not efficient at sanitising.
Is unlikely to affect most dust mites, since they are photophobic and unless you work in a darkened room, will be too deep within the pad to be effected.
Has no effect on alergens.

Hi John, I had come to the same conclusion after reading one of your previous posts, however I understand the reason for the UV is to kill off any microscopic mould and fungi not removed by vacuuming. I have to say it also means I'm doing more than my clients (many of whom have Kirbys) could do hence portraying a better image, a little like using something other than a Dyson for carpet cleaning pre-vac. Would you not agree?
Kind Regards
Dave

Dave,
It is true that without the presence of the micro-fungi the dust mite cannot survive as the ex foliated skin will not contain sufficient water to sustain them.
Again, it is the penetration depth of the light that makes me sceptical of its' value, and the fact is that any reduction in the mould colony would very very temporary.
Good practise by the customer - leaving bedding exposed to fresh, cool, dry air for a couple of hour per day will have far more beneficial effect.

As always you make sense and I totally concur with you re bedding, it’s taken me years to train wife.
The only neg to this they come out when most of us are in bed and it’s dark, where’s the baseball bat!

Re your Dyson if you could arrange a black bit of silk over your hand tool = a Kirby great selling point you will probably be able to sell them a Henry! ;D

Good point Len! I should be able to think of something really witty here about Henry(Halliday) being a previous Kirby salesman but my brain's just too dull these days, must be the dust mite chemicals!
Kind regards
