Got a nice 10x12 good quality chinese with a dirty kellim/ fringe, whats the best way to get them clean and stop them from yellowing last one i did i was not overly happy with..Simon

Edward
Kilim rug fringes are usually cotton and although some dont like this process as it reduces the fringe life, I use it quite a lot as cosmetically it makes the fringe look white again. Fringes usually last over 10 years so an old expensive rug is worth refringing.
I would use the Prochem 3 chemical mix, Fibre shampoo, oxibrite and fibre buff. Take care not to get any of the mix onto the rug its self though as it will strip dye colour from it.

Thanks would you use an acid rinse to stop browninf S Edward

Yes it will reduce it from browning out,
to stop you need to speed dry the fringes.

Edward, on most white rug fringes I usually spray with white vinegar after cleaning and leave to dry. Thy dry nic and white ;) even better if a bit of sun is out.
