Title: Furniture dye
Post by: Shaun_Ashmore on May 12, 2008, 04:44:10 pm
Pure wool carpet has furniture dye (I think customer has self cleaned carpet) only been their from yesterday what do you all recommend?

I usually go for RX dye remover from Chemspec as I've had success with that in the past.

Red RX is my only answer but I bet Doug knows something better. Not that I'm putting you under any pressure Doug ;)

Have you been a naughty boy and not put sliders or blocks down. :'(

I do remember someone say they retufted where possible these stains if cleaning didnt work.

Hi Guys

I would try Red RX which is basically a mixture of surfactants mixed with isopropanol.

I would also try isopropanol, acetone etc.

I am also experimenting with a different approach but can't comment yet as it may be too dangerous to the carpet at least ;)

Cheers

Doug

Shaun, I have mixed sucess with wood staining dyes and in wool its very difficult, if heat transfer does not work, then retuft or reweave.

You have been trained on this by Davey L so no excuse

He will visit you in the small hours  :D
