Title: pressure washing tarmac?
Post by: davetherave on May 12, 2008, 03:49:06 pm
i'm probably going to have to do some tarmac pressure washing soon. As i've never done tarmac before is there anything i should know about it, like what and what not to do.
i've only ever done block paving and slabs so far

I'm very grateful for any advice anyone can offer

I hate doing tarmac, very easy to leave stripes.

Use a good wide fan nozzel and take your time.  Be very carefull not to cut the tarmac up or rip it up if it is old.
There is a product on the market from thompsons I think that can be painted onto tarmac after cleaning to bring it back to black.  I have never used it so I cant comment on the quality of it or how good it is.

Good luck with it matey.

I also use  a fsc on it but on about 3/4 pressure, then lance for rinse down (takes longer than rinsing block, imo)
