Title: Acrylic Rug
Post by: Mark Betts on October 30, 2003, 12:07:12 am
Have to clean a 100% Acryliv Rug.

This rug is cream, with dark brown pattern.

And it is very very soiled.

Any recomendations??

or just clean as normal?

Thanks

Mark

Mark,

I tend to treat acrylic rugs as wool - do so and you should not go far wrong,

John.

:-*

First a good pre scrub with rotary maching with a very soft brush

lower the heat down on the truck mount

and use a good fiber rinse

almost forgot pre vacuum really good.

Hi

Acrylic fibres were produced to resemble Wool and they do a pretty good job...  it cleans well with HWE, although it doesn't have the resilience of Wool therefore the pile will not 'lift' in the same way.

Happy cleaning
